𝘼𝙪𝙜𝙪𝙨𝙩 27, 2026

The MDRRMO Sikatuna, in partnership with Sikatuna BFP, SIKEMRU Responders, and RHU Sikatuna, conducted a Fire and Casualty Drill to strengthen the preparedness of market vendors, establishments, and the public on what to do during a fire emergency.

The activity also provided our responders an opportunity to practice rapid response, casualty assessment, first aid, rescue, and coordinated emergency assistance.

Preparedness saves lives. Response makes a difference.

The Municipality of Sikatuna conducted a Coordination Meeting of the El Niño Task Force to discuss and strengthen the municipality's preparedness measures and proactive strategies in addressing the possible impacts of the El Niño phenomenon.

The meeting was presided over by Hon. Justiniana L. Ellorimo, Municipal Mayor and Chairperson of the El Niño Task Force, together with the members of the Task Force. Key agenda included water resource management, agricultural concerns, public health preparedness, contingency planning, and the implementation of coordinated interventions to ensure the safety and well-being of the community.

Through collaboration and unified action, the Municipality of Sikatuna remains committed to building a resilient and prepared community in the face of climate-related challenges.

The above conditions are being experienced in (SalvadorBenedicto), (CityOfPassi), (Madalag, Libacao, Malinao, Makato), (Sagbayan, Batuan, Balilihan, Catigbian, Sevilla, Bilar, Carmen, Danao, Valencia, GarciaHernandez, SierraBullones), (Burauen, Dagami, Merida, Isabel), (CityOfBorongan, Llorente, Balangiga, GeneralMacarthur), (DanaoCity, Tuburan, Tabuelan, Borbon, Sogod, Tabogon, Carmen, Catmon), (Manjuyod, Bindoy, Ayungon, Tayasan, Jimalalud, LaLibertad, CityOfGuihulngan and BaisCity) which may persist within 1 to 2 hours and may affect nearby areas.

All are advised to take precautionary measures against the impacts associated with these hazards which include flash floods and landslides. Keep monitoring for updates.

In observance of the National Disaster Resilience Month 2026 with the theme, "Naghahanda at Kumikilos Tungo sa Panatag na Bagong Pilipinas," the Municipality of Sikatuna successfully conducted its Tree Planting and Tree Growing Activity on July 14, 2026, at Sikatunarra Tree Park, Libjo, Sikatuna, Bohol.

The activity was led by LDRRMC Chairperson Hon. Justiniana L. Ellorimo and actively participated in by the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Officer (MDRRMO), LDRRM Council members, Punong Barangays, Barangay DRRM Focal Persons, Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS), DRRMO staff, as well as personnel from the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

Together, we planted not only trees but also hope, resilience, and a greener future for the people of Sikatuna. Let us continue working hand in hand in protecting our environment and building a safer, more resilient community for generations to come.
