To ensure alignment with updated policies and standards, address implementation gaps, and improve clarity and consistency, the MarSU Research, Extension, and Training, through its Research Office, conducted a two-day activity for the revision of the existing Research Manual of Operations on December 12โ13, 2025, at Panuluyan Farmstay, Masalukot, Santa Cruz, Marinduque.
The program started with welcome remarks by Dr. Ma. Edelwina M. Blase, Vice President for Research, Extension, and Training (VP for RDET). This was followed by a talk by Dr. Evangeline B. Mandia, Research Director, who emphasized the important sections of the manual that need revision, such as the Vision and Mission, national and local agenciesโ research agendas, policies, remunerations, and identified gaps.
Afterward, participants were grouped and given 1.5 hours to discuss and brainstorm their assigned key sections. The three key sections were: (1) Vision, Mission, and Core Values; (2) R&D Management Policies; and (3) Monitoring, Evaluation, and Remunerations.
At the end of the brainstorming session, group representatives delivered their presentations. Clarifications, comments, and suggestions were provided by the VP for RDET, the Research Director, the technical working groupโDr. Juliet Q. Nabos and Dr. Joy Profugoโand the research coordinators. This process helped validate and address issues and concerns in the existing research manual.
After the open forum, the group finalized several provisions that need revision in the manual.
Following the completion of the revision activities, the participants engaged in a short team-building activity designed to foster camaraderie, collaboration, and mutual understanding among the members. This was also participated the celebrity President, Dr. Diosdado P. Zulueta.
