128th Anniversary of National Flag Day Celebration from 28 May – 12 June 2026

The Veterans Federation of the Philippines – Cavite Province proudly participated in the meaningful celebration of the 128th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Philippine Independence, held at the Dambana ng Pambansang Watawat in the City of Imus, Cavite on May 28, 2026, at 8:00 in the morning, fostering the spirit of unity, patriotism, and nationalism among the participants.

The occasion commemorated the historic first unfurling of the Philippine National Flag during the Battle of Alapan in Imus, Cavite in 1898, symbolizing the victory of the Philippine Revolutionary Army against Spanish forces and paving the way for the nation’s freedom and independence.

Around forty (40) veterans and few surviving spouses from the 1st Cavite, 2nd Cavite, and 3rd Cavite Veterans Districts, together with their respective Post officers, attended the celebration with the officers of the Cavite Veterans Organization (CAVO), headed by Vet. Celso C. Voluntad, Regional Vice President for Region IV.

Personnel from VFP-CAVO and PVAO-FSO Cavite also participated in the activity. The Veterans Federation of the Philippines Headquarters was represented by Col. Roseller M. Muros, PAF (Ret.), and Ms. Jennifer Ting, Regional Assistant for Region IV, exemplifying dedication and continued commitment to the welfare of veterans.

The participating veterans, post presidents, and post officers demonstrated solidarity and patriotism as they joined fellow Filipinos in honoring the significance of National Flag Day and commemorating the courage, heroism, and sacrifices of Filipino patriots who fought for the country’s freedom.

A wreath-laying ceremony was conducted in honor of the occasion, attended by distinguished guests and officials who graced the celebration, including Hon. Francisco Gabriel D. Remulla, Governor of Cavite; Sen. Joseph Victor G. Ejercito, Senate of the Philippines; Congressman Adrian Jay C. Advincula, 3rd District of Cavite; Secretary Juanito Victor C. Remulla Jr., Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG); Chairman Regalado Trota Jose Jr., National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP); Hon. Alex L. Advincula, City Mayor of Imus; Vice Mayor Homer T. Saquilayan, City of Imus; Rev. Fr. Julius R. De Sagun, Ph.L.; and Dr. Janice T. Ilano, Administrator, City College of Imus.

The celebration concluded successfully through the collaborative efforts and active participation of various government agencies, veterans organizations, local officials, and patriotic citizens, all united in preserving the nation’s rich history and honoring the sacrifices and legacy of Filipino veterans and heroes.

The 2nd Gentri Veterans Post successfully celebrated its 2nd Anniversary on 25 May 2026 at AC Resort, Buenavista I, General Trias City.

Among those who attended were CAVO officers and personnel headed by Vet. Celso Voluntad, RVP Region IV; Vet. Abraham Rint, District President, 2nd Cavite Veterans District; Vet. Reynaldo Cesa, District Treasurer and Post President of 2nd Tanza Veterans Post; and Vet. Rodolfo Gonzales, Post President of TMC Veterans Post. Ms. Jennifer Ting, Regional Assistant for Region IV; Ms. Angelita Hizo, Admin Head; Mr. Barrick Ting; and Mr. Marvin Adlawon, CAVO staff.

Also present during the activity were Vet. Rodrigo Gonzales, Post President of 1st General Trias Veterans Post, together with his Post Treasurer, Vet. Pitt Fortuno.

The program formally opened with an invocation led by Vet. Boyet Gaduena, Post President, 2nd Gentri Post followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem led by V. Colocado. Guests and members were warmly welcomed during the opening portion of the activity.

Vet. Abraham Rint shared important information regarding the organization, its mission, and its continuing commitment to supporting veterans and their families. An inspirational message was likewise delivered by RVP Celso Voluntad, emphasizing the importance of unity, cooperation, and active participation among members.

The activity also featured songs, raffle draws, and fellowship activities that further strengthened the bond among veterans, their families, and attendees. A communal lunch and merienda were likewise shared, making the celebration more enjoyable and memorable for everyone present.

The successful celebration was made possible through the collective cooperation and teamwork of the officers and members of the 2nd Gentri Veterans Post whose dedication and support greatly contributed to the success of their 2nd Anniversary celebration.

The Veterans Federation of the Philippines-Cavite attended the 2nd Quarterly Meeting of the Federation of Military Retirees Association of Cavite Inc. (FMRACI) held on 25 May 2026 at 0900H at the PSWDO Office, Provincial Capitol, Trece Martires City.

The meeting was presided over by Mr. Manny Carreon in lieu of the President, Lt. Victor S. Delos Reyes, who was unable to attend the meeting.

A total of twenty-nine (29) attendees were present during the meeting, composed of presidents and officers of various retirees’ associations under FMRACI.

Ms. Jennifer Ting, Regional Assistant for Region IV, provided a detailed presentation and discussion regarding the frequently asked questions (FAQs) about VFP membership, including the importance of becoming a member and the benefits that veterans may receive from the organization, which gained positive interest and understanding from all attendees. The CAVO personnel, headed by Ms. Angelita Hizo, Mr. Barrick Ting, and Mr. Marvin Adlawan, also provided support in addressing and explaining the questions and concerns raised by the attendees during the discussion.

The officers and members of FMRACI expressed appreciation for the information shared and mutually agreed to regularly invite VFP and PVAO in future meetings for updates concerning veterans’ programs and services.

Furthermore, FMRACI discussed proposed plans for their General Assembly next year, where all military retirees in Cavite will be invited to become members of both the Federation and VFP and PVAO are likewise expected to participate and provide updates during the said activity.

Ms. Lyn Escobar, Head of PSWDO also provided updates regarding accomplishments, benefits and assistance available to veterans. She emphasized unity and cooperation among retirees’ associations, with members agreeing that there should be no competition among organizations. Instead, the common goal should always focus on helping and supporting veterans for their welfare and benefit.

The activity strengthened camaraderie, cooperation, and unity among retirees’ associations and veteran organizations in Cavite, with the shared objective of continuously supporting the welfare and interests of all veterans.

The Veterans Federation of the Philippines- Cavite participated in the Lakbay Serbisyo sa Bagong Pilipinas conducted by Philippine Veterans Affairs Office FSO Cavite on 23 May 2026 at Brgy. Castanos Cerca, General Emilio Aguinaldo, in collaboration with the Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo Veterans Post headed by the new elected Post President Vet. Gerson Reyes.

Both Vet. Gerson Reyes and Vet. W***y Ikan played a vital role in the success of the activity through their active coordination which contributed to the smooth conduct of the program and increased veterans’ participation.

Present during the activity were Vet. Danilo Legaspi Jr., Post President of Alfonso Veterans Post, and Vet. Rodolfo D. Tafalla, President of ARMPA Alfonso, Cavite, whose attendance and support further strengthened unity and cooperation among veterans’ organizations in Cavite.

During the activity, VFP Cavite received membership applications from veterans below 64 years old and processed VFP ID applications. The VFP Cavite team composed of Ms Jennifer Ting, Regional Asst. for Region IV, Ms. Angelita Hizo, Admin Officer, VFP-CAVO Inc. and Mr. Barrick Ting, VFP-CAVO Inc staff also assisted veterans by accomodating and answering inquiries regarding membership, benefits, programs and other related concerns.

The activity was further supported by PNRAB, one of the affiliated organizations of VFP, headed by Vet. Estelito Bilugan, whose presence and participation contributed to the success of the activity.

The activity strengthened the partnership between PVAO FSO Cavite and VFP-Cavite (CAVO Inc.) in bringing frontline services closer to veterans and their dependents. Certificates of Appreciation were awarded to participating organizations and individuals, including outgoing Post President W***y Ikan for his dedicated service and support to the veterans’ community.

🇵🇭 Information Drive Conducted for AFP Retired Musicians – Mendez Chapter

In response to the formal request of the Association of AFP Retired Musicians – Mendez Nuñez, Cavite Chapter, the Veterans Federation of the Philippines (VFP) Cavite successfully conducted an Information Dissemination Drive for its members.

The activity aimed to provide essential information on VFP programs, membership processes, benefits, and services available to retirees, while also assisting interested members in their application and documentation requirements.

During the session, participants were guided through the procedures for VFP membership, including the submission of necessary documents and orientation on available assistance such as hospitalization, medical benefits, and other support services. The team also facilitated initial processing and provided hands-on assistance to ensure clarity and accessibility for all attendees.

This initiative highlights the continued commitment of VFP Cavite to reach out to various organizations and ensure that our veterans and retirees are well-informed, supported, and connected to the services they deserve.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the officers and members of the Mendez Chapter for their warm welcome, cooperation, and active participation.

🇵🇭 **Successful General Assembly of Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo Veterans Post – Bailen, Cavite**

The Veterans Federation of the Philippines – Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo Veterans Post (3rd Cavite Veterans District, Region IV) successfully conducted its **General Assembly** on April 18, 2026, at ARPNPBI Karangal Hall, Brgy. Castaños Cerca, General Emilio Aguinaldo (Bailen), Cavite.

The activity aimed to strengthen unity among members, disseminate vital information on programs and services, and reinforce coordination within the veterans’ community.

The program commenced with registration and opening ceremonies, including the singing of the Philippine National Anthem led by Veteran Arcadio M. Malimban, followed by *Retiradong Sundalo* led by Veteran Rolando G. Mendoza. Veteran Estelito G. Bilugan delivered the opening prayer and remarks, while Veteran Marte M. Beltran shared an inspiring message for all attendees.

Ms. Ninfa F. Magos, Head of PVAO FSO Cavite, provided a brief discussion on pensioner benefits, followed by Ms. Jennifer V. Ting, Regional Assistant for Region IV – VFP, who led the information dissemination session on VFP programs, services, benefits, and compliance requirements for members and their dependents.

A key highlight of the activity was the **election and oath-taking of new officers**, namely:
