As Pakistan celebrates its 79th Independence Day, we honour Quaid-e-Azam’s vision that education is the cornerstone of national progress, economic strength and sustainable development.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and the stewardship of Federal Minister Prof. Ahsan Iqbal, Pakistan is accelerating investments in human capital through to build a competitive, knowledge-driven economy.

Under PSDP 2026–27, the Ministry of Planning has allocated Rs. 46 billion for the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and Rs. 36.3 billion for the Federal Education & Professional Training Division to strengthen higher education, enhance learning outcomes and equip youth with future-ready skills.

These investments are advancing transformative initiatives, including the

✔️expansion of Daanish Schools,
✔️ strengthening universities through HEC,
✔️ Establishing Centres of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Robotics, Big Data & Cloud Computing, Nanotechnology, Cybersecurity and other emerging technologies to promote cutting-edge research, innovation and future-ready skills.
✔️ developing Quantum Valley Pakistan, and fostering innovation and entrepreneurship to prepare Pakistan’s youth for the demands of the 21st century.

By investing in education, innovation and human capital, Pakistan is translating Quaid-e-Azam’s vision into action, empowering a new generation to lead the nation towards sustainable growth and shared prosperity.

This Independence Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to learning, innovation and nation-building as we work together for a stronger, self-reliant and knowledge-driven Pakistan.

Strengthening Pakistan–Spain Partnership through Knowledge, Innovation, and Sustainable Development 🇵🇰🇪🇸

H.E. Carlos Aragon, Ambassador of Spain called on Federal Minister Prof. Ahsan Iqbal. Both sides discussed expanding bilateral cooperation in higher education, agriculture, human development, sports, and cultural exchange.

✔️Strengthening Pakistan–Spain bilateral cooperation in higher education, agriculture, sports, human development, and cultural exchange.
✔️Expanding academic collaboration through a proposed MoU between the University of Narowal and the Universidad de Granada.
✔️Promoting joint research, faculty and student exchanges, and institutional partnerships between universities.
✔️Highlighting the University of Narowal's Al-Andalus-inspired architecture as a reflection of the shared cultural heritage between Pakistan and Spain.
✔️Inviting the Spanish Ambassador to visit Kartarpur Sahib to promote interfaith harmony, cultural understanding, and religious tourism.
✔️Seeking Spanish cooperation in olive cultivation, agribusiness, value addition, and agricultural technology, particularly in Balochistan, the merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and the Potohar region.
✔️Emphasizing the expansion of Pakistan's olive industry to strengthen food security and reduce dependence on imported palm oil.
✔️Proposed collaboration with Spain and UNICEF to host the next International Conference on Early Childhood Development in Pakistan.
✔️Extended an invitation to Her Majesty Queen Letizia of Spain to attend the conference.

Ambassador Carlos Aragon appreciated Pakistan's hospitality and reaffirmed Spain's interest in deepening bilateral engagement.

The meeting concluded with both sides reaffirming their commitment to advancing a forward-looking partnership driven by knowledge, innovation, sustainable development, and stronger people-to-people ties.

علامہ اقبالؒ کے فلسفۂ خودی اور قائدِ اعظم محمد علی جناحؒ کے وژن پر استوار ہماری فکری بنیادیں ہمیں سکھاتی ہیں کہ پاکستان کبھی ناکام نہیں ہو سکتا—ہمارا نظام کسی انہدام کا شکار نہیں بلکہ ایک جامع اور پائیدار قومی اصلاحات کے دور میں داخل ہو چکا ہے۔

میرا واضح پیغام ہے کہ پاکستان کے نوجوان کاکروچ نہیں، شاہین ہیں! یہی باصلاحیت نوجوان نسل ہمارا حال بھی ہے اور روشن مستقبل بھی-

آج ضرورت اس امر کی ہے کہ ہم فکری بنیادوں کو مضبوط کریں اور علامہ اقبالؒ کے افکار کی روشنی میں اپنی خودی کو بیدار کریں۔ مشکل حالات میں مایوسی پھیلانے والوں کو یہ واضح پیغام دینا چاہتا ہوں کہ پاکستان کے نوجوان کاکروچ نہیں، شاہین ہیں۔ ہماری یہی نوجوان نسل روشن امید کا چراغ اور اس ملک کا اصل مستقبل و حال ہے۔

حکومت "اڑان پاکستان" جیسے جامع معاشی فریم ورک کے تحت نوجوانوں کو مصنوعی ذہانت، ڈیجیٹل مہارتوں اور جدید تقاضوں سے ہم آہنگ کرنے کے لیے دن رات کوشاں ہے۔ 25 کروڑ عوام کی فلاح اور ایک ٹریلین ڈالر معیشت کی منزل صرف اجتماعی کوششوں اور قومی اتفاقِ رائے سے ہی حاصل کی جا سکتی ہے۔

آئیے، اپنے خوابوں کو محنت اور مسلسل جدوجہد سے حقیقت میں بدلیں اور پاکستان کو ایک مضبوط، خودانحصار اور خوشحال ریاست بنائیں۔

یومِ آزادی کے پُرمسرت موقع پر مجھے اس ولولہ انگیز نغمے کی رونمائی کرتے ہوئے بے حد خوشی محسوس ہو رہی ہے۔ یہ نغمہ پاکستان کے نوجوانوں کے نام ہے، کیونکہ یہی ہمارے آج کی طاقت اور کل کی امید ہیں۔
یہ نغمہ شاعرِ مشرق علامہ محمد اقبالؒ کے عظیم تصورِ خودی اور شاہین سے متاثر ہے۔ اقبالؒ نے نوجوانوں کو اپنی صلاحیتوں پر یقین، بلند حوصلے، علم، کردار اور مسلسل جدوجہد کا درس دیا۔ وہ فرماتے ہیں:
“خودی کو کر بلند اتنا کہ ہر تقدیر سے پہلے
خدا بندے سے خود پوچھے، بتا تیری رضا کیا ہے۔”
اقبالؒ کا شاہین بلند پرواز، خوددار، بے خوف اور عزم و ہمت کی علامت ہے۔ وہ ہمیں یاد دلاتے ہیں:
“تو شاہیں ہے، پرواز ہے کام تیرا
ترے سامنے آسماں اور بھی ہیں۔”
آج پاکستان کو ایسے ہی شاہین صفت نوجوانوں کی ضرورت ہے جو مایوسی نہیں، امید پھیلائیں؛ مسائل کا شکوہ نہیں، ان کا حل تلاش کریں؛ اور اپنی صلاحیتوں کو قوم کی ترقی کے لیے وقف کر دیں۔
میری دعا ہے کہ یہ نغمہ ہر نوجوان کے دل میں خود اعتمادی، حب الوطنی اور خدمتِ وطن کا نیا جذبہ بیدار کرے، تاکہ ہم قائداعظمؒ اور علامہ اقبالؒ کے خوابوں کا ایک مضبوط، ترقی یافتہ اور باوقار پاکستان تعمیر کر سکیں۔
آئیے عہد کریں کہ ہم اپنی خودی کو بیدار کریں گے، شاہین کی طرح بلند پرواز ہوں گے، اور پاکستان کو ترقی، علم اور عظمت کی نئی منزلوں تک لے جائیں گے۔
