The conversation highlighted the Port of Gdańsk’s growing role as one of the Baltic region’s leading logistics hubs and a strategic gateway to Central and Eastern Europe. Attendees gained valuable insights into the port’s ongoing development, global network, and forward-looking initiatives aimed at strengthening cooperation with international partners, including those in the United States.

Are we all ready for the upcoming changes to the regulations governing the National Labour Inspectorate?

How should employers prepare for interactions with the Inspectorate? What are likely to be the Inspectorate’s priorities during inspections? And how can companies develop good practices in this area?

During the joint AmCham Kraków and AmCham HR Committee meeting, our experts from PCS Paruch Stępień Kanclerz - Marcin Sanetra and Robert Stępień - addressed these and many other questions. Most importantly, they sparked a lively discussion among participants about the upcoming changes and their potential impact on companies, the way they operate, and the labor market as a whole.

The new regulations will come into force soon, making this the right time for companies to review their employment policies and internal procedures. We are certainly not done with this topic yet - the first months under the new regulations will shape market practice in this area, and we plan to return to the discussion in the fall to focus on the practical application of the rules and the conduct of inspections.

We were also pleased to welcome representatives of the Regional Labour Inspectorate in Kraków, Robert Pasikowski and Szymon Arkit, who joined yesterday’s meeting. We invited them to better understand the concerns and questions raised by our member companies. In the fall, we hope to give them the floor and continue this important discussion together.

Many thanks to Brown Brothers Harriman for hosting the event, for the excellent organization, and for the delicious food. Special thanks as well to Jagoda Piocha for making the event happen, and to Timothy O'Brien for opening the meeting and setting the tone for the conversation.

Thanks also to Luiza Luranc-Jaworek, HR Committee Co-chair, and Mateusz Jurczyk, AmCham Kraków Branch Director, for organizing and leading the event.
