Scoala Gimnaziala "Axente Sever" Aiud Infiintata in septembrie 1973

Timp de 20 de ani școala a funcționat sub numele de "Școala Generală nr.3" Aiud. În toamna anului 1993 când orașul a sărbătorit 700 de ani de atestare documentară, școala a primit numele marelui tribun de la 1848, Axente Sever. Din 2 octombrie 1993 școala se numește "Școala cu cls I-VIII, Axente Sever", în amintirea celui care a fost colaborator apropiat al lui Avram Iancu și luptător pentru emanciparea românilor transilvaneni.
