Today, Ambassador Dr. Kaire Mbuende, Director General of the National Planning Commission of the Republic of Namibia, accompanied by H.E. Stanley Tsandib, had the honour of paying a courtesy call on H.E. Dr. Cheikh Tidiane Dièye, Minister of Hydraulics and Sanitation of the Republic of Senegal. Ambassador Dr. Mbuende congratulated the Minister on his reappointment and reaffirmed Namibia's commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation with Senegal. Discussions focused on enhancing collaboration under the African Union–Africa Water Investment Programme (AU-AIP) High-Level Panel on Water Investments for Africa, co-chaired by H.E. Dr. Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah, President of the Republic of Namibia, and H.E. Bassirou Diomaye Faye, President of the Republic of Senegal. The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of Namibia and Senegal to advancing Africa's water investment agenda, strengthening cooperation between the two Co-Chair countries, and promoting sustainable water security and climate resilience across the continent.
