📢 Call for Nominations to the Memory of the World Register for Latin America and the Caribbean 2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣6️⃣ ‼️
The Regional Committee of the Memory of the World Programme for Latin America and the Caribbean (MoWLAC) of 🇺🇳🏛️ UNESCO invites institutions, communities and individuals responsible for managing and safeguarding documentary and bibliographic heritage to submit nominations for the inclusion of documentary collections and documentary heritage in the Regional Memory of the World Register for Latin America and the Caribbean.
Last year, the Earl Lovelace Manuscripts (housed at The University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹), and the Derek Walcott Personal Home Library (house at the Sir Arthur Lewis Community College in St. Lucia 🇱🇨), were added to the Regional Register of the Memory of the World 🌎
The purpose of this call is the inclusion in the Regional Register of documentary heritage or documentary collections of archival, bibliographic or audiovisual nature, preserved in countries of the region and considered significant for the regional collective memory.
Nominations are encouraged for documentary heritage that reflects the defining features of the history and evolution of the region.
The documentary heritage or documentary collections submitted may include textual materials (manuscripts or printed documents), audiovisual materials (films, videos or sound recordings), iconographic materials (photographs, prints or designs) or cartographic materials, on paper or other material supports. Digital and electronic documents and publications may also be submitted.
