We get asked this a lot: "Can we ride the elephants?"
The answer is no — and here's why that matters.
To make an elephant safe to ride, it has to be broken first. The industry calls it "training." It happens young, it happens with chains, and it never fully leaves them.
EVE79 was built to be the opposite of that.
We're an observation-only sanctuary in Mae Wang, just outside Chiang Mai. Our elephants roam the forest freely. They forage, they bathe, they rest, they socialise — entirely on their own schedule. Visitors watch from a respectful distance and learn about who these animals actually are, instead of what they can be made to do.
It's quieter than a typical elephant "experience." It's also the only version of it the elephants would choose.
