First grade took a pausing point from their Bluebonnet Knowledge unit on The Human Body to help Dr. Welbody solve a problem! They worked through the Engineering Design Process to create a splint to help support a “broken wrist”. They used vocabulary like joint, tendons, bones, and muscles. If you have a first grader, ask them about their project and what they would improve next time!🩻🩺

Our 5th graders hard at work digging deep into their matter unit! Exploring various methods and tools to separate mixtures, including sieves, magnets, and paper filters!🥼🧪

Our first grade Engineers understand changes in materials caused by heating and cooling! They went through the Engineering Design Process while making popsicles to figure out how to get their stick to stand up straight. After a few hours in the freezer, they enjoyed their popsicles while talking about how they would improve their designs.
They also made a plan, heated broken crayons into a liquid, and watched them harden while cooling off to make a new crayon.🖍️💙
