Be a Good Neighbor is back!

Join us for the 6th Annual Be a Good Neighbor! The purpose is simple… helping people who are hurting.

📍 Christian Service Center at 3185 North 10th Street in Abilene
📅 Thursday, October 8 from 8:30 a.m. to noon

Since 2020, this event has helped more than 1,300 people find resources that can change their lives. Last year, 405 neighbors came through our doors, and this year we're expecting a record crowd of 450-500 or more!

What to Expect:
✅ 45+ local agencies and organizations – all in one place
✅ Info on job-seeking help, rent and housing assistance, free legal aid, health resources, Medicaid, disability resources, adult education, addiction resources, and more
🎁 The first 500 guests receive a $25 grocery or gas gift card, or six bus passes, for visiting each booth
🎉 Six drawings for $100 gift cards to Walmart or United Supermarkets

Know someone who needs help but doesn't know where to start? Bring them! This is a one-stop shop to learn about the services available right here in our own backyard.

Christian Service Center is happy to announce the hiring of Meredith Horn as the next Executive Director with a stated goal of serving more neighbors, changing more lives, and making God’s love more tangible in our community.

Meredith has successfully administered the Operation Blue Jeans program for the last two years, and prior to that, as a volunteer, fell in love with the mission to show the love of Jesus to those in need by providing basic needs and personal development. Meredith previously worked as a Controller for Eventus Advisory Group and as the Client Accounting Services Manager at Condley and Company, LLP.

Meredith will begin as Executive Director at Christian Service Center on September 1st, and Jim Clark will begin his new role as Director Emeritus at that time. The board will introduce our new Executive Director at our fall luncheon on September 25, 2026, and a meet-and-greet open house will be held later this fall.
