On July 26, Akron DSA’s Haitian Solidarity Language Group (HSLG) hosted a Konpa Dance Party to raise funds for Children in Haiti and bring attention to unjust attacks on the Haitian people.

With the termination of TPS looming over the Haitian community, it is more important than ever to show support. The HSLG works to organize in solidarity through language learning and educating the community on the injustices inflicted upon Haitians at the behest of imperialism.

It’s time to LOCK IN!

Although Akron DSA is based in Ohio, we are part of a nationwide movement to end the reign of corrupt politicians like Jared Moskowitz, who would rather work for Trump and the DOGE caucus than the people he serves. Oliver Larkin for Congress is seeking to unseat him in the primary election on August 18 and take a platform of strengthening democracy, Medicare for all, and economic justice to US Congress.

While Oliver is running in Florida’s 25th congressional district, the legislation he will fight to enact in Congress will not stop there. Oliver is a dedicated organizer and will work for you regardless of the district you live in.

Right now, the race is a statistical tie and we need YOUR help to get the job done. You can phonebank for Oliver from anywhere in the country as many times as you want. Volunteer opportunities are available every day up to and including election day, August 18. His campaign staff will train you and provide resources that make conversations with voters simple and easy.

She highlights the risks of technical errors, racial bias, and data misuse by private billionaires all while Akron's own police oversight board remains defunded and ignored.

Akron calls on City Council to audit Flock cameras, ban immigration enforcement use, and remove this violation of privacy and dignity from our neighborhoods.
