This afternoon at 3:13 p.m., Coventry Township Fire Department responded to the 3400 block of South Main Street after multiple 911 callers reported a possible structure fire. Auto-aid was provided by Green, New Franklin, Springfield, and Lakemore Fire Departments.

Upon arrival, firefighters found a brush fire burning behind a lakefront home. Firefighters were able extinguish the fire before it could extend into the residence.

🚒 Our New Rescue Truck Has Arrived! 🚒

Today marks an exciting day for the Coventry Township Fire Department as our new rescue truck was officially delivered!

Over the coming weeks, our firefighters will be busy outfitting the apparatus with equipment and completing extensive driver and operational training to ensure it’s ready to serve our community safely and effectively.

As part of that training, you may see the new rescue truck traveling throughout Coventry Township while our crews become familiar with its capabilities. These training exercises are an essential part of preparing the apparatus for emergency response.

We’re excited to add this valuable resource to our fleet and look forward to placing it into service soon. Thank you for your continued support of the Coventry Township Fire Department!

Air Quality Alert issued July 16 at 9:51AM EDT by NWS Cleveland OH

The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency has issued an Air Quality Advisory for the entire state of Ohio, until midnight EDT tonight.

Smoke from Canadian wildfires will adversely impact air quality today. The Ohio Environmental Protection Agency expects the Air Quality Index to be in the 'unhealthy' range.

***You may notice a light grey smoke if you go outside, as well as a smell of smoke. Our members have gone on multiple reports of smoke in different areas of the township already today so if you have concern please feel free to contact the Fire Department at 330.644.3228.
