Tuesday, June 9th, we have Kids Yoga with Grace Acker from 10-11 am. Yoga will be offered in July and August, too! So stay tuned.

The Alberton Branch Library Summer Reading Program begins Tuesday, June 9, and sign-ups are happening NOW!

Kids of all ages can participate, earn raffle tickets, attend free programs, and have a chance to win great prizes throughout the summer.
Stop by the library during open hours to register and pick up your reading log.

๐ŸŽ‰ Congratulations to Shyna C., age 11, winner of the Alberton Railroad Day Button Contest! Her artwork will become the official Alberton Railroad Day 2026 souvenir button design. Thank you to everyone who submitted designs โ€” we had so many creative entries to choose from!

๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ On Railroad Day, stop by the Alberton Branch Library booth directly behind the library to get your souvenir button with a donation to the library in any amount.

A lot of people think library donations only go toward books โ€” but they also help pay for all the everyday essentials that keep the library open and welcoming for the community: paper, printer ink, stamps, cleaning supplies, toilet paper, craft supplies for kidsโ€™ programs, and so much more.

These may not be glamorous expenses, but they are the things that keep library services running day after day. Every donation, large or small, truly helps support your local library.

Weโ€™ll also have a childrenโ€™s button-making activity at the booth, so be sure to stop by and say hello during Railroad Day! ๐Ÿš‚๐Ÿ“š

Join the Alberton Branch Library for a FREE Kids & Family Yoga class on Tuesday, June 9 at 10:00 AM at Hank Roat Memorial Park in Alberton!

This fun outdoor yoga class is part of our Summer Reading Program. Kids will earn a raffle ticket just for attending!

Please bring your own yoga mat or a towel.

All ages are welcome โ€” come move, stretch, breathe, and have fun together!

Tomorrow morning, Alberton officially celebrates the opening of our brand-new Storywalk at Hank Roat Memorial Park!

Join us Tuesday, May 26 at 10:00 AM for a simple but special community event that combines reading, walking, nature, and connection.

The Storywalk is designed for ALL ages โ€” whether youโ€™re bringing kids, enjoying a morning walk, supporting local community projects, or just curious to see something new in town.

Walk the path and read the story displayed page-by-page outdoors, then stop by the Alberton Branch Library afterward for:

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear friend Melissa Pendley.

Melissa was a part of the Alberton Branch Library family for many years. She served as a librarian in years past and more recently as one of our substitute librarians, always stepping in with kindness, dedication when she was needed.

Beyond her work at the library, Melissa was an instrumental member of the Friends of the Library group. She gave many hours helping support and improve our library through fundraising and community events. Her most recent project was helping organize the Railroad Day fundraiser raffle โ€” just one example of her generosity and commitment to this town.

Melissa touched the lives of many through her warmth and willingness to help wherever she was needed. She will be deeply missed by our staff, volunteers, patrons, and community.

Our thoughts are with her family and loved ones during this difficult time. โค๏ธ

Big things are happening at Hank Roat Memorial Park!
Charlei and Shea have been hard at work installing the brand-new Storywalk path, and we are getting so excited to share it with the community. This project has truly been a team effort, and itโ€™s amazing to watch it come together right here in Alberton.
Soon, families, walkers, book lovers, and community members of all ages will be able to stroll the path and enjoy a story one page at a time while taking in the beauty of the park.
