The Sumter County Schools Board of Education continues to invest in strong, effective leadership! Our Board recently participated in GSBA Whole Board Governance Training, with an engaging focus on parliamentary procedures, facilitated by Zenda Bowie.

We were excited to have district and school leaders sit in on the training, learning alongside our Board members and strengthening our shared understanding of effective governance and leadership.

When our leaders learn together, we lead better together! This professional learning experience strengthens collaboration, builds capacity, and helps ensure that our collective focus remains where it belongs—on doing what is best for our students, staff, families, and community.

Celebrating Our Central Office Team!

Superintendent Jerry J. Sanders, Jr. took a moment to share a heartfelt thank you with our Central Office staff and school principals for their hard work, dedication, and commitment to serving our students, families, and schools. Their efforts behind the scenes play an important role in helping Sumter County Schools move forward! Special acknowledgement to several departments to include our finance team.

Mr. Sanders also celebrated our employees with August birthdays and wished each of them a very Happy Birthday!

Of course, no celebration is complete without something sweet! Staff enjoyed delicious cake and cupcakes as we celebrated our team and the people who make a difference every day.

Thank you, Central Office, for all that you do!

PANTHER POWER HOUR IS COMING TO SUMTER COUNTY SCHOOLS!

We’re excited to introduce Panther Power Hour After School program, a new opportunity designed to keep our students learning, growing, and thriving after the school day ends!

Monday–Friday | 2:30–5:30 p.m.
Location - Sumter County Elementary School
Certified teachers on staff daily
Extended learning and academic support
$65 per week

Panther Power Hour will provide students with a safe, structured, and engaging environment where they can receive additional learning opportunities and support from certified educators.

Parents, we need YOU! If you are interested in having your child participate, please reach out TODAY to sign your commitment letter.

It’s great to see how Mr. Brock and the Sumter County Elementary and The Accelerated Achievers Academy are utilizing our outdoor classrooms and newly renovated spaces to strengthen our scholars’ pride and knowledge. These rigorous, hands-on learning experiences make education both meaningful and adventurous. Great job, Mr. Brock! The future is bright at Sumter County Schools! 🐾

Taking Care of Our SCS Family!

The summer heat is here, but Sumter County Schools is making sure our students, parents, and staff stay hydrated and cared for!

From providing water to families during car rider dismissal to taking extra steps to support our staff and students throughout these hot days, we are committed to looking out for our entire SCS family.

Because taking care of our students means taking care of the people who support them, too!

Sumter County Schools’ Leadership Cabinet is committed to continuous growth! Through a collaborative study of The Five Dysfunctions of a Team, leaders are reading beyond the workday and applying key principles through meaningful discussions, reflection, and team-building activities. Together, we are strengthening trust, collaboration, and collective leadership to better serve our schools, staff, and students.

🐾The P.A.C.E. Academy Has Officially Launched!
The morning was filled with outstanding learning, meaningful connections, and collaboration.
Participants engaged in:
🔹 My Journey: P.A.C.E. Academy 2026- what’s next?
🔹 Strategies for grouping, transitions
🔹 Making Connections, teaching with passion, and reviewing standard operating procedures

In addition to P.A.C.E. Academy activities, our math teachers collaborated on Math Learning Plans to strengthen instruction and support student success.
We sincerely thank our external partners, Chattahoochee-Flint RESA and i-Ready, for investing in and collaborating with our educators today.
This is only the beginning! Putting It All Back Together! 💙💛🐾
