🚨 HAVE AN ABSENTEE BALLOT? DO NOT PUT IT IN THE MAIL! 🚨

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, and we’re running out of time to make sure absentee ballots arrive!

If you still have your absentee ballot, here are your options:

✅ Option 1: Complete your ballot and take it directly to the Polk County Election Office at 2309 Euclid Avenue in Des Moines. They have a drop box outside! It is pictured below.

✅ Option 2: Bring your unvoted absentee ballot to your polling place on Election Day, surrender it to election officials, and vote in person.

⚠️ Don’t risk your ballot arriving too late! Iowa absentee ballots must be RECEIVED by the deadline, not just postmarked.

🗳️ Your vote matters. Let’s make sure it counts!

Please SHARE this with friends, family, and neighbors who may still have their absentee ballots sitting on the kitchen counter!

💙🚓🚒🚑 A heartfelt thank you to our first responders!

As the daughter of a police officer, I’ve always had a special place in my heart for first responders.

I grew up knowing that when the call comes, it doesn’t matter if it’s the middle of dinner, a holiday, or the middle of the night. Someone needs help, and you answer.

I also know that behind every first responder is a family that shares in the sacrifices, the worry, and the pride.

To our police officers, firefighters, EMTs, dispatchers, and everyone who answers the call when our communities need them most, thank you.

Thank you for your service, your sacrifices, and your commitment to keeping our communities safe.

And to my dad, thank you for showing me what a life of service looks like.

Thank you to our community heroes on National First Responders Day, our Ankeny Police Department officers, firefighters, EMTs and paramedics. These brave, selfless individuals protect and serve our community in times of crisis. They run towards danger and respond in times of need, all day, every day. Thank you for your courage and dedication. Your commitment to public safety makes Ankeny stronger and safer.

Observed annually on Oct. 28, National First Responders Day was designated by Congress in 2017 and a Senate resolution in 2019. This day acknowledges daily sacrifices, honors fallen personnel and promotes supporting first responders through mental and physical health resources.

The last Wednesday.

Today is the last Wednesday of this election cycle. Just typing those words brings a whole mix of emotions.

A friend recently shared with me that she’s getting through each day by celebrating the little ✅ marks she can make on her never-ending to-do lists.

I thought about that this morning.

With Election Day so close, I’m feeling everything. Excitement. Nervousness. Gratitude. And yes, a little bit of terror! It’s hard to put into words what it feels like to work so hard for something you care so deeply about and know that the finish line is almost here.

I’m still working on checking off my lists, one thing at a time. But there are very important boxes I can’t check without you.

✅ Please vote.
✅ Make sure your friends, family, and neighbors have a plan to vote.
✅ Use your voice to help shape the future of our community.

In these final days, I’m reminded that this has never been about just one person. It’s about all of us, our families, our neighbors, and the community we call home.

So here’s to the last Wednesday, the unfinished lists, the deep breaths, and the people who make all of this worthwhile.

I’m asking for your support as well as your vote.

🗳️ 7 DAYS! ONE WEEK! YOUR VOTE MATTERS!

If you think one vote can’t make a difference, think again!

Here in Ankeny, we have State House elections decided by less than 1% of the vote. One race came down to just 23 votes!

23 people. That’s a classroom. That’s a group of neighbors. That’s how close an election can be.

Your voice matters. Your vote matters. YOU make a difference!

We are just ONE WEEK away from Election Day, November 3!

Make a plan. Make your voice heard. GO VOTE!

7 days. Every voice. Every vote.

A big thank you to Chris Jones for having us at his event tonight!

Clean water in Iowa is an issue that means a lot to me personally. I care deeply about our state, the people who call it home, and the future we’re leaving for the next generation.

I’m grateful for the opportunity to connect with others who share that passion, and I’m looking forward to rolling up my sleeves and working together to make a real difference for Iowa’s water quality.

Our families, our communities, and future generations deserve clean water.

This. ❤️

40 weeks and 2 days pregnant. Standing in line for an hour. All so her daughter can someday hear the story of how important it was to make sure her voice was heard.

As a mom, a teacher, and someone who believes deeply in the power of voting, this picture gets me.

We’re not just voting for ourselves. We’re voting for our children, their futures, and the world we want them to grow up in.

That’s worth standing in line for.

Early voting is happening NOW! Make your plan, bring a friend, and make your voice heard.
