Midway Elementary OFFICIAL page of Midway Elementary. Located in Alpharetta, Georgia Mr. Hoke S. Spence served as the school’s first principal.

Midway Elementary opened to 310 students in 1961 as a consolidation of both Bethelview and Brandywine schools. Bethelview's four-room building was no longer suitable for use, while Brandywine School was destroyed in a fire. Prior to the opening of Midway, the students from these two schools were bussed to Sharon Elementary. Since its opening, Midway Elementary has had six additions and renovations

to its campus. The school is named after the community in which it is located, which received its name because it was half-way between Cumming and Alpharetta.

What a fun first week of PE! 🏃‍♀️🏀⚽️ The smiles, laughter, and energy have been everywhere as our Mustangs jumped, ran, played, and got moving! We're having a blast getting to know our students and setting the foundation for a great year in PE, one filled with purposeful movement, teamwork, confidence, and plenty of fun! Don't forget about your PE homework! 📸 We want to see how our Mustangs choose to move when they aren't in PE class. Bring in a photo of yourself being active in your favorite way on your next PE day! This week, we're celebrating the amazing specials that inspire creativity, curiosity, and leadership across our school. Today, we're highlighting Trailblazers Specials with Ms. Morris and Lilly (grades K-2) and Ms. Brent (grades 3-5).
💙Grades K-2 are learning about Leader in Me and discovering what great leaders do. As we practice leadership skills each day, we are learning about our unique talents, strengthening our communication, setting meaningful goals, solving problems, and finding the courage to share our voice. We believe everyone can be a leader, and we are learning how to use our leadership to make Midway and our world an even better place.
💛Our 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders are putting the Eight Habits into action in Trailblazers! Students are learning to Be Proactive and Begin with the End in Mind by taking ownership of their reading and logging their books in Beanstack. Every book logged helps students see their reading progress, work toward goals, and celebrate their accomplishments. We’re excited to watch our Mustangs grow as readers AND leaders this year!

Mustang Spotlight! Congratulations to Hashmitha on an incredible achievement! She recently performed the classical Indian dance Mohiniyattam at a FOKANA event in Pennsylvania, joining more than 1,000 dancers on one stage and officially certified as part of a Guinness World Records achievement. 🏆

It was a special moment filled with excitement, encouragement, and support from their Mustang family. 💙💛 Thank you to our first-year teachers for bringing your passion, creativity, and heart to Midway.
