💙 Connecting Families to Essential Resources

We were excited to welcome National Benefit Services back as a vendor at this year’s Back to School Bash!

During the event, three Nicholas House families received phone plans, helping them stay connected, while families without health insurance had the opportunity to sign up for healthcare coverage. 📱🩺

Back to School Bash is about more than school supplies—it’s also an opportunity to connect families with resources that can support them throughout the year.

💙 Supporting Our Families in Every Way

Our Back to School Bash is about more than getting ready for the classroom—it’s also about connecting families with support and resources along the way.

We were grateful to have 2819 Church join us this year to provide on-site prayer and counseling support for Nicholas House families. Their team created a welcoming space where families could connect, receive encouragement, and feel supported throughout the day.

🛏️💙 Sweet Dreams Start Here!

We’re highlighting another wonderful vendor who helped make our Back to School Bash extra special! Thanks to the generosity of Angels at Rest, 161 brand-new pillows were provided to Nicholas House families.

For families transitioning out of homelessness, something as simple as a comfortable pillow can help make a new space feel more like home. 🏠

🎨✂️ Adding Extra Fun to Back to School Bash!

A special thank you to Don’t Lose Hope for joining us as a vendor at this year’s Back to School Bash!

From professional face painting and haircuts to games and activities, they gave our kids plenty of opportunities to have fun, express themselves, and head into the new school year feeling their best. 🎒💙

🧪💡 Learning, Creating & Having Fun with PinkSTEM!

Our Back to School Bash was about getting ready for school—and having plenty of fun along the way!

We were excited to welcome PinkSTEM back this year to bring hands-on STEM activities to our kids. Through learning, creating, and exploring, PinkSTEM gave our students a fun way to spark their curiosity while celebrating the start of a new school year. 🎒✨

🎒📦 From Our Wish List to Their Backpacks!

Sometimes it’s the individual school supplies that help bring everything together! Thanks to the generous supporters who shopped our Amazon Wish List, we were able to fill in the gaps and make sure Nicholas House students had the supplies they needed for our Back to School Bash.

💙 A New Beginning for a Father and Son

When Antwann and his 7-year-old son arrived at Nicholas House in January, they had already experienced months of housing instability, including nearly two months living outside.

Focused on creating a more stable future for his son, Antwann secured a job within two weeks of entering our shelter and was referred to our Homeless to Homes Rapid Re-Housing program. By the end of February, Antwann and his son had moved into an apartment of their own. 🏠

Today, Antwann continues working toward long-term stability and building a brighter future for his family.

His advice to others facing homelessness:

"Stay focused on what's important. Take advantage of opportunities for assistance, no matter how small they may seem. It all goes toward the success of your future."
