We still have a lot of paper backs and bible studies in great condition. Plenty of fiction and non fiction as well! Come fill a bag!

Edited: Since we have such a plethra of used books for our sale shelves, starting Monday, August 17th our perpetual book sale will become a bag sale, we will provide a bag and you can fill it for $2. The sale will last as long as we have materials to put out and we will be filling the shelves regularly. This is not the annual book sale for the Friends just a small perpetual pop up!

If you have been looking for a peaceful spot to read or enjoy nature, grab your current library book and head out to our hummingbird reading garden, nurtured by caring volunteers and sponsored by the Aurora Friends of the Library.
The vibrant, fiery red spikes of the Cardinal Flower (Lobelia cardinalis) are putting on a spectacular show right now.
Did you know these native plants have a very special relationship with Ruby-throated hummingbirds? Hummingbirds are the primary pollinators of these unique blossoms. Because the flowers open from the bottom of the spike to the top, our fast-flapping friends return day after day for a nectar snack... yes, we have seen two hummingbirds in the garden this season.

The Aurora Library took the show on the road! Ms. Lala and Dr. Amber Stone had the best time visiting the Verona Preschool! They spent the morning playing, telling wonderful stories, and sharing all the amazing books and resources our library has to offer. We love bringing the library into the community! Book spotlight! Celebrate America's 250th anniversary with our youth non-fiction collection! Bring history to life for your young readers with books covering the Revolutionary War, the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and the diverse heroes who shaped the nation.

Good food, friends and fun~
See you on the lawn at 10 am. We will play, eat an early lunch and have infused lemondades in the yard! Hosted by ONE of your favorite staff and sponspored by the Friends of the Library.

We will be waiting on the lawn for you! Join us this Friday, August 14th at 10 AM for our Summer Reading Solstice! We are serving up free hot dogs, crunchy chips, and fun-infused lemonades! Come try a refreshing glass of "Paperback Punch" or the bold "Dewey Decimator" while supplies last! Pack up the kids, grab your favorite lawn chairs, and get ready for great games, crafts, and food all rolled into one amazing day at your local library. See you there!
