Welcome Alyssa Sanchez to our 5th Grade team!

Hi y’all! My name is Alyssa Sanchez, and I will be joining Rutledge’s fantastic 5th-grade family! I recently graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with a B.S. in Communications. I worked with the City of Austin Parks and Recreation Department for three years throughout my college career. I found my passion in creating a community that inspires and fosters youth development. After graduation, I began working as a Paraprofessional, and right then and there, I knew exactly where I belonged. I am eager to make an impact with the Rutledge community and collaborate with students, families, and staff for a year full of learning and growth!
I love spending my free time in the gym or exploring Austin’s trails with my puppy, Sir Benjamin. Exploration is my drive for continuous learning. I have studied abroad and been to eight countries, driven across the U.S and explored many states. I’m also a big thrifter! You’ll find me with a matcha in my hand at a local thrift store. To top it all off, I love collecting Pokémon cards! I am so excited for this school year and can't wait to meet everybody!

Welcome Cathy Oshel to The Ranch as part of our 5th Grade team!

My name is Cathy Oshel, and I am so excited to be joining Rutledge Elementary as the new 5th Grade Math and Science teacher this school year!

I have spent many years working in educational technology, partnering with schools and teachers across Texas to help support student learning. I was born in Texas and attended Baylor University where I received my Bachelor of Science Degree. I earned my Master of Science Degree from the University of North Texas.

My husband, two children and I live in the Georgetown area. We enjoy traveling, spending time outdoors, and exploring new places together. I also love reading, solving puzzles, and finding fun, hands-on ways to make learning engaging.

I believe every student can be successful when they feel supported, encouraged, and challenged. My goal is to create a classroom where students feel safe to ask questions, take risks, work together, and discover that math and science can be exciting!

I am incredibly grateful to be joining the Rutledge family and can't wait to meet my students and their families. Here's to a fantastic school year filled with learning, curiosity, and lots of fun!

Welcome Siri Martinez to The Ranch as part of our SLE team!

My name is Siri Martinez. I'm a recent college graduate. I earned my bachelor's degree from Texas State University. I grew up in Leander and attended school within Leander ISD, and I absolutely loved my experience. It's really special to now have the opportunity to come back and be a part of Leander ISD as a member of the Rutledge family and the SLE team as an Instructional Assistant!

Outside of school, I enjoy going on walks with my dog, hiking with my mom, and exploring new coffee shops to find my next favorite drink. I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone and having a great year together!

Welcome Julia Shell to the Kindergarten team!

Hi there! My name is Julia Shell and I am so excited to be joining the Kindergarten team at Rutledge!

I graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 2021 with a BS in Human Development and Family Sciences, with a focus in Early Childhood. I recently completed a year-long teaching residency here at Rutledge and I feel so lucky to be returning in my very own classroom. During my residency, I experienced firsthand what a special place Rutledge is. The supportive staff, amazing families, and welcoming community make it such a wonderful place to learn and grow, and I’m so excited to be a part of it.

Before becoming a classroom teacher, I worked as an educator at several children’s museums, where I had the opportunity to inspire curiosity and a love of learning through hands-on experiences.

I grew up in San Angelo, Texas but I’ve called Austin home for almost seven years now. Outside of school, I enjoy camping, spending time with my family, doing pottery, reading, and hanging out with my cat.

I can’t wait to meet my kindergarteners and their families, and I’m looking forward to a wonderful year of learning, growth, and fun!

Welcome Zantea Carpenter (Ms. Z) to The Ranch as part of our SCSS team!

Hi, Rutledge families! I am so excited to officially begin the 2026–2027 school year as a permanent member of the Rutledge Elementary family! Although I joined Rutledge last October, it didn't take long for me to realize I had found a truly special place. After spending the past year getting to know our incredible students, families, and staff, I knew this was where I wanted to be.

I have been working with children and families since 2000 through a variety of community service programs. Building meaningful relationships, supporting student success, and helping children and families thrive has always been my passion.

A little about me—I was born in South Korea and was adopted by an American family at the age of eight. I've been fortunate to live in South Korea, Indonesia, Louisiana, and Texas, experiences that have given me an appreciation for different cultures and perspectives. I also played soccer at Southeastern Louisiana University, where I developed a lifelong love for teamwork, resilience, and leadership.

When I'm not at school, I'm a local business owner, proud mom of two amazing daughters, community volunteer, avid tennis and golf player, and adventure seeker who loves making memories with family and friends.

One of my favorite mottos is, "Stay in the struggle." I believe growth happens through perseverance and embracing challenges, and I look forward to encouraging our students to face every opportunity with confidence and determination.

I can't wait to meet everyone and make this an amazing school year.

Welcome Bonnie Maynard to our Resource and Inclusion team!

Hi! My name is Bonnie maynard, and I’m so excited to be joining the Rutledge family this school year! I am transferring from Akin Elementary where I was a Dyslexia/Resource/Inclusion teacher.

My husband and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary this summer. We have two sons: Mason, who will be attending Texas Tech University this fall, and Maddox, who will be a Jr. at Rouse High School. We have 2 cats and 2 dogs, but I’ve been known to take in homeless ducks, chicks, turtles, and rabbits!

I’m looking forward to getting to know my new students, partnering with their families, and working alongside the amazing Rutledge staff.

Welcome Mackinlee Frame to The Ranch as part of our 5th Grade team!

Hello, wonderful Rutledge Community! My name is Mackinlee Frame, and I am over the moon excited to be joining the 5th-grade team this year. I recently graduated from UT Austin in May with my B.S. in education. Hook 'em! From the moment I stepped onto the campus, I have felt extremely welcomed by the Rutledge Staff and am eager to get to know the students and families apart of this lovely school. After spending a wonderful year student teaching in a 5th-grade classroom, I couldn't be more ready to start my first year of teaching.

A little bit about me: I come from a long line of teachers and musicians and thoroughly enjoy mixing my two passions, music and education. I love writing songs, playing different instruments, and learning how to produce! The ocean is my favorite place on earth, and I spent much of this summer in Greece swimming in the sparkling water and climbing many rocks. I love recycling and painting! I look forward to filling my classroom with many repurposed materials I have been working on this summer, and I hope to engage my students in using recycled items in our learning adventures. My favorite animal is a shark, and I got the opportunity of a lifetime to swim with them in Hawaii. My love for sharks is so strong that I decided to name my new kitty after them. Her full name is Shark Velociraptor III, and despite her name, she is the cutest and cuddliest yet most ferocious cat on the planet!

Welcome Sandie Harvey to The Ranch as part of our 5th Grade team!

My name is Sandie Harvey and I am thrilled to be joining the 5th grade team at Rutledge this year! I have been teaching for 26 years, 21 of those in Leander ISD. I was born and raised in Buffalo, New York (Go Bills!) and attended Canisius College, where I received my bachelor's degree in elementary education and English. I earned my master's degree in literacy from Nazareth College. My passion is developing students who are critical thinkers, avid readers, and confident leaders.
I am married and have two boys who will attend Vista Ridge High School this year. When I'm not at school or involved with the Vista Ridge band, I enjoy hiking, yoga, reading, cooking, traveling, and playing games.
