We train so that if we are ever faced with critical situations, we are fully prepared to handle them. Back in March, our crew spent valuable time training with Sim-IA.
Seeing stories like this reminds us exactly why we put in the hours. We are proud to stay ready for our community, no matter the call.

A central Iowa first responder is crediting a training program for helping him save a life. He received that training just one day earlier. Story link in the comments.

As EMS Week begins today, the Badger Fire Station invites the public to join us for an open house on Monday, May 18th at 5:30pm. This event offers an opportunity to explore our station, view our equipment and trucks, and ask questions to our personnel. We look forward to meeting you tomorrow and encourage you to share this invitation with others.

Be sure to consider visiting the other county departments that will be hosting open houses.

From a large-scale drill in the morning at the Fort Dodge Regional Airport to vehicle extrication training in the evening at Mid-Iowa Towing, yesterday was all about preparation.

A couple of members of the Fort Dodge Fire Department joined us and shared some techniques they use in patient extrication techniques. Training together makes us stronger for the community we serve.

Thank you to FDFD for joining us and thank you to Mid-Iowa Towing for the vehicles and training space!

There were a lot of people laying around in a grassy area at Fort Dodge Regional Airport Tuesday morning and they didn’t look good. One young woman appeared to be missing part of a leg. Others were covered in horrible-looking gashes, with blood everywhere. But those wounds were all fake. They were...

This morning Badger Fire participated in a large scale drill at the Fort Dodge Regional Airport. We were joined by Fort Dodge Airport personal, Fort Dodge Firefighters Local 622, Army National Guard, Webster County EMA, LifeFlight Des Moines LifeFlight 2, as well as airline representatives. Badger Fire assisted with triage of patients, patient care, and set the landing zone for LifeFlight 2 to land. After all the patients were gone from the scene a fire was started and the airport AARF truck extinguished the fire and Badger Fire supplied the AARF truck with water. It is really a valuable opportunity to work with multiple different agencies and understand everyone's capabilities.
