Local EMS Providers Recognized for Excellence in Prehospital Stroke Care
Bainbridge, OH April 30, 2026 — We are proud to recognize Asst. Chief Brandon Robinson and FF/EMT Allison Morris for their exceptional performance and dedication to patient care. On February 10, 2026, the crew was dispatched to an emergency where they quickly identified a patient exhibiting signs of a stroke.
Following established standards of care and clinical best practices, Robinson and Morris made the critical decision to utilize air medical transport. This facilitated the rapid transfer of the patient to a comprehensive stroke center, which was vital as the patient was later diagnosed with a large vessel occlusion.
Upon arrival at the Ohio State University (OSU) Wexner Medical Center, the surgical team led by Dr. Youssef performed a successful thrombectomy. The crew’s swift action and decision to prioritize prompt, specialized transport resulted in a phenomenal outcome for the patient.
Yesterday, the OSU Stroke Team honored the crew for their life-saving efforts. Brandon Robinson and Allison Morris were presented with Stroke Champion Awards by Cassie Forrest (OSU Stroke Program Manager), Dr. Youssef (OSU Neurosurgeon), and Michael Duncan (OSU Center for EMS).
This case serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of rapid stroke care. When it comes to stroke treatment, every second counts, and the expertise demonstrated by our providers ensures that patients in our community receive the best possible chance at recovery.
Congratulations to Brandon and Allison on this well-deserved recognition!
