🚒 🔥Training in Full Swing at Decatur County Fire & Rescue!🔥🚒

Training has been in full swing at Decatur County Fire & Rescue as our personnel continue to work toward higher levels of training and certification. We have several new personnel currently working on their NPQ Firefighter 1 certification. This training helps prepare them to safely perform essential tasks on emergency scenes. We also have several personnel working toward their NPQ Firefighter 2 certification, the next level of firefighter training. These certifications help strengthen our department and ensure our personnel are prepared to better serve the citizens of Decatur County. We would like to thank Bainbridge Public Safety for allowing us to use their facility for some of our training evolutions. We also want to give a big thank you to Rathel Auto Parts & Body Shop for allowing us to conduct additional training at their facility. Partnerships like these are extremely important to the success of our department. Working together with our community partners gives our firefighters valuable training opportunities and helps us continue providing the best possible service to the citizens of Decatur County. The response to our 2027 Decatur County Fire & Rescue EMT Program has been incredible, and Phase 1 applications are filling fast!

If you’ve been thinking about taking the next step toward a career in emergency services, now is the time to apply. This tuition-free program is a great opportunity to gain the knowledge and hands-on skills needed to make a real difference in the lives of others and serve the citizens of Decatur County.

⚠️ A few important reminders:
• If you’ve already submitted your Phase 1 application, there’s no need to apply again. Duplicate applications will not improve your chances of selection.
• Once Phase 1 closes, applicants who move forward will be contacted with details about Phase 2 tentatively on October 1st. Dates are subject to change based on program needs.
• With limited seats available, we encourage anyone who hasn’t applied to complete the initial sign-up as soon as possible.

🚑 TUITION FREE EMT COURSE SIGN UP🚑

Decatur County Fire and Rescue is excited to announce our upcoming EMT Course, beginning January 12, 2027, and ending April 22, 2027. For more information on class days and times click the link provided below.

This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in starting a career in emergency services or gaining the skills to serve others during their time of need. Becoming an EMT means making a real impact and helping protect and care for the people in our community.

This course is tuition free; however, participants will be responsible for associated costs including but not limited to:�• Background check�• Drug screening�• Uniforms�• Testing fees
