Decatur County Fire & Rescue

Decatur County Fire & Rescue Decatur County Fire & Rescue Decatur County Fire & Rescue is a combination Fire Department. Meaning that we have both paid and Volunteer Firefighters.

We have 2 paid, manned 24hr a day stations and 10 Volunteer stations spread throughout the County. Our response area is close to 700 square miles, approximately 50 of which is water. We also have mutual aid (ie. on request) agreements with multiple surrounding towns and counties; including a couple of neighboring communities in Florida. We also have a automatic aid agreement with the City of Bainbridge.

🚒 Structure Fire in Blackjack Area 🚒

Yesterday afternoon, Decatur County Fire and Rescue responded to a structure fire in the Blackjack area. Firefighters arrived quickly and worked hard to get the fire under control and keep everyone safe.

We would like to give a special thank you to Climax Volunteer Fire Department for helping us on scene. We truly appreciate your support and teamwork.

We also want to thank Survival Flight EMS and the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office for their quick response and assistance.

🚒 Please join us in congratulating three members of Decatur County Fire and Rescue on their recent promotions! 🚒

Through hard work, dedication, and a commitment to serving the citizens of Decatur County, the following firefighters have earned well-deserved promotions within our department:

🔥 Brandon Josey – Promoted to Captain

🔥 Greg Brown – Promoted to Lieutenant

🔥 Randall Earnest – Promoted to Engineer

These promotions represent countless hours of training, experience gained on emergency scenes, and a strong commitment to leadership and service. Each of these individuals plays an important role in helping keep our community safe every day.

We are proud to have them as part of our team and look forward to the leadership they will continue to provide.
