What is Minnesota’s Permanent School Fund, and why is it on the ballot this November?

Dr. Schmidt put together a short video to help Becker staff, families, taxpayers, and community members better understand the proposed constitutional amendment, how the Permanent School Fund works, and what the change could mean for Becker Public Schools.

The fund already supports Minnesota schools, and this vote is about how future distributions from that existing fund are calculated. Our goal is simply to help our community be informed before voting. Learn more at MNPSFAmendment.org

As part of our commitment to continuous improvement, we are conducting a survey in partnership with Studer Education to monitor our progress in creating a positive school experience for you and your child(ren). Your feedback is crucial in helping us identify areas for recognition and improvement and will support our direction for our Strategic Plan.

The survey will ask you to select the school your child(ren) attends. Once you complete the survey for 1 school, you will have the option to provide feedback on another school if you have a child at another school in the district. Providing feedback to each school should take approximately 10-15 minutes to complete. We encourage you to complete it in one sitting, as your responses will only be saved once you click submit.

Becker Culinary Team had a great time attending Oktoberfest at the Hyatt Regency Minneapolis! Students got to experience the hospitality industry while supporting a great cause—the Foundation’s scholarship fund.
