The Rolling Sculpture Car Show is back on Sunday, October 25th! If youā€™ve got a car youā€™d like to show off, you can preregister on eventbrite.com. All proceeds benefit the Friends of Bee Cave Public Library, which helps us to fund things like programming and teen volunteer scholarships. Weā€™re very grateful for our Friends!
And, of course, if youā€™ve just want to check out the cars on display, spectating is free and makes for a great family activity. šŸš˜

We have a new Youth Services Specialist weā€™d like to introduce to you! Learn more about Ashley in her own wordsā€¦
ā€œHi! My name is Ashley Sheline and Iā€™m excited to be joining the team as the new Youth Services Specialist! I love working with young kids and am especially passionate about childrenā€™s literacy. I was a teacher (pre-K through elementary) and Literacy Specialist in the Houston area for several years. Before coming to Bee Cave, I was the Childrenā€™s Library Assistant at Dripping Springs Community Library. The most recent book I enjoyed is The Calamity Club by Kathryn Stockett, but my answer to the ā€˜favorite bookā€™ question has always been The Giver by Lois Lowry.ā€

Weā€™re excited to announce this yearā€™s Lake Travis Reads author...Kelsey Cox! Kelsey hails from the Hill Country and her two novels, Pretty Dead Things and Party of Liars, are twisty psychological thrillers. This yearā€™s Lake Travis Reads will be held at the Bee Cave Public Library on Thursday, November 12thĀ at 7:00 PM.Ā

Lake Travis Reads is a One Book, One Community program whose goal is to bring the Lake Travis communities together through the shared reading and discussion of the works of our favorite authors. Lake Travis Reads is co-sponsored by Bee Cave Public Library, Lake Travis Community Library, and Spicewood Community Library. For more details, visit laketravisreads.org.
