Our Teen Advisory Board has lots of opinions about books, so we’ll be bringing you book reviews from them every once in a while! Here’s the inaugural review from one of our teens talking about a relevant read from @nicolayoon.
Hi, I’m Sonali. A book I enjoyed reading was “Everything, Everything” This book is about a teenage girl who has a very rare disease that makes her allergic to everything in the world. She has lived inside her house her whole life and hasn’t really been outside to see the real world. I really loved reading this book because it had so much drama. I also felt it was very relatable because I’m stuck at home because of quarantine and she is stuck at home because of her disease.

It's time to seize the database, friends. Our new online tutorials are live on our website under the eResources page. The tutorials will show you the basics of our TexShare databases, which are useful for research and homework and college prep and about a hundred other things. They'll make you want to stand on your desk and say "Oh Captain, My Captain!" and tell everyone you know about the library's digital resources.

Y'all have read a lot this summer! We're just past 150,000 minutes for our kids summer reading challenge on Beanstack. The Friends of Bee Cave Public Library have generously agreed to donate $1,000 to one of our favorite community organizations. Colin's Hope is a local nonprofit devoted to preventing childhood drowning by increasing water safety awareness and training. If you have kids enjoying the pool this summer, take the time to check out the water safety resources on their website. We want to thank our Friends group for helping us support this important organization!
