August Advocacy Week 2 Starts NOW!

This week, NAHRO is highlighting the importance of preserving the nation’s affordable housing — including Public Housing and Project-Based Rental Assistance (PBRA).

Preserving these critical housing resources helps ensure that individuals, families, seniors, and people with disabilities can continue to access safe, stable, and affordable homes in their communities.

Public housing and project-based rental assistance are essential components of our nation’s affordable housing infrastructure. Continued investment and strong federal support are necessary to address capital needs, maintain quality housing, and protect long-term affordability.

During NAHRO Advocacy Week, we’re proud to advocate for policies and resources that preserve affordable housing, strengthen communities, and support the residents we serve.

? Our 2025 National Renter Survey found that about 10.2 million U.S. renters need or live with someone who needs accessibility features to live safely and independently. Nearly all of these renters are older adults aged 62 and above, live with a disability or chronic health condition, or live with at least one person with these characteristics.

Unfortunately, most of their accessibility needs are going unmet. Renters who need mobility or sensory features don't have them in their homes, and nearly half of renters with accessibility needs have said that landlords are typically unwilling to add accessibility features.

Big things are happening... and they're just getting started! 🏗️

As part of HB 819, HomeFront was honored to be named one of only three Montana Community Reinvestment Organizations (CROs). Today, we're excited to celebrate a major milestone—our first CRO project, Southills Commons, is officially under construction, and the first homes are beginning to take shape!

Our leadership team recently had the opportunity to walk through the very first floor plan, and seeing this vision become reality was nothing short of inspiring. These aren't just houses—they're future homes where families will build their lives and strengthen our community.
