We have major news out of the Federal District Court of North Dakota.

Our lawsuit defending free speech is moving forward after the court denied the State’s Attorney Julie Lawyer’s motion to dismiss, allowing our First Amendment challenge to proceed.

This case was filed after we faced direct threats for exposing corruption. Convicted Rep. Jason Dockter sent a cease-and-desist over our billboard, and former Rep. Jeremy Olson threatened legal action after we exposed his misconduct. These are just a few instances of the ND law being misapplied to silence whistleblowers and advocates of government transparency.

The court recognized the chilling effect this law has on political speech. This is a critical step toward protecting every North Dakotan’s right to speak freely without fear of prosecution.
