I’m thankful the governor was able to see the devastation our community is facing firsthand this afternoon. We have a very long way to go, but this is a meaningful step. This declaration will help us get the resources we need to help the thousands of residents whose homes have been destroyed or damaged.

DeWine told local media that he is preparing to sign paperwork today declaring an emergency, which would open up opportunities for the county to receive state and federal funding.

Residents all over Boardman are reporting downed trees, power lines, flooding, and hazardous conditions around Boardman.

Boardman Police and Fire Departments are out responding to these calls and emergencies as they come in.

Things to remember:

⚠️ Do not drive through high water
⚠️ Do not drive over down lines
⚠️ Do not drive over or around downed trees in the roadway
🚦If traffic signals are not working at an intersection, treat it as a four-way stop

If you must go out, use extreme caution.
