This is more than an endorsement from Florida for Bernie. This is a love letter from our movement to one of the people who has spent more than a decade pouring her heart, her labor, and her courage into the fight for all of us.
Angie Nixon has stood with us when it was easy, and more importantly when it was hard. She organized for Bernie Sanders across multiple states, fought shoulder-to-shoulder with working people, and has spent the last several years on the frontlines in Florida’s Legislature resisting fascism, cruelty, and corporate power with everything she has.
When our movement needed fighters, Angie showed up.
When our communities were under attack, Angie showed up.
When speaking out came with consequences, Angie still showed up.
Again and again, she chose the people over power.
She has earned more than our admiration. She has earned our loyalty, our energy, and our action.
We are also proud to kick off our new grassroots effort Grassroots for Angie Nixon, built to support and amplify digital and on-the-ground volunteer efforts across the State of Florida, free of charge. This is about building real capacity, connecting people who want to help, and making sure volunteers have the tools and coordination they need to show up strong everywhere in the state.
That’s why every Bernie volunteer, especially Bernie Victory Captains, DNC Delegates, and BernieSlack admins and moderators, should contact Bernie’s team at [email protected] and urge Senator Sanders to join this fight to elect Angie for Florida as the next United States Senator from Florida.
Our movement says we fight for those who fight for us.
Now it is our turn to fight for Angie.
We are calling on U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders and every member of this movement to come to the table. If you have a dollar to give, give it. If you have time to volunteer, step up. If you have a platform, use it.
Because Angie Nixon has spent years carrying this movement on her back in one of the toughest political battlegrounds in America, and she deserves to know we are ready to carry this fight with her.
