Maine Department of Transportation project starts Sunday night. Just a heads up.

Guess what? Starting tomorrow night, Sunday, April 19, MDOT will begin milling and paving on Pleasant Street. The project extends from the 295 ramp to Stanwood St. and shifts for work will be from 7pm - 7am, running Sunday through Thursday, plus occasional Fridays if necessary. We will keep you updated throughout the project.

National Work Zone Awareness Week starts on Monday, April 20 and lasts through Friday, April 24. In light of the tragic loss of MaineDOT workers earlier this year, the 2026 campaign carries even greater significance. MaineDOT and Maine Turnpike Authority have been working on a wide scale outreach effort to increase public awareness of work zone safety, encourage lasting changes in driver behavior, and reduce crashes in and around roadway work areas. They have also partnered with other organizations across the state who have people working in the right-of-way along Maine’s roads.

The Town of Brunswick is supporting this campaign that highlights “Safe Actions Save Lives.” We hope you'll join us. Thanks.
