The Lindsay Clancy case has brought renewed attention to an important and difficult conversation about maternal mental health.

While this is a complex and heartbreaking situation, it reminds us of the importance of awareness, compassion, and access to support. Every mother and family deserves to feel seen, heard, and supported.

At Maternal Matters Favored, we remain committed to education, advocacy, and connecting families with resources and community support.
Maternal mental health is maternal health.

Black maternal mental health matters—and so does the support every mother receives before, during, and after pregnancy.

In 2024, the U.S. maternal mortality rate for Black women was 44.8 deaths per 100,000 live births, compared with 14.2 deaths per 100,000 live births for White women. This disparity highlights the urgent need for continued awareness, advocacy, respectful care, and support for Black mothers and families.

Maternal health is more than physical health. Mental health is maternal health.

At Maternal Matters Favored, we believe mothers deserve spaces where they can feel safe, heard, supported, and connected to resources that can help them navigate their mental health journey.

During Black Maternal Mental Health Week, we invite our community to learn, listen, share resources, and help reduce the stigma surrounding maternal mental health.

BIPOC Mental Health Awareness | Maternal Mental Health | Community Wellness
On July 11, 2026, Maternal Matters Favored was honored to be invited to participate in the 5th Annual BIPOC Mental Health & Wellness Summit, recognizing BIPOC Mental Health Awareness Month.
This meaningful event brought together community members and organizations committed to increasing awareness, reducing stigma, and creating greater access to mental health resources and support. We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with others who share our commitment to improving mental health outcomes and supporting individuals and families in our communities.
At Maternal Matters Favored, we believe that mental health support should be accessible, compassionate, and inclusive. Creating spaces where people feel seen, heard, and supported is an important part of building healthier families and stronger communities.
Thank you to the organizers for inviting MMF to be part of this important conversation and for creating a space where mental health, wellness, culture, and community come together.
Together, we can continue to raise awareness, break the stigma, and remind every family that support is available.

Education is one of the most powerful tools we have to support healthier families and stronger communities.

MMF was honored to partner with the Early Learning Coalition of Orange County's Baby Institute to present a maternal mental health workshop for pregnant and postpartum mothers.

During the workshop, participants learned about perinatal and postpartum mental health, emotional wellness, stress management, and available community resources. We are grateful for the opportunity to connect with families, answer questions, and remind every parent that seeking support is a sign of strength.

Events like these help reduce stigma, increase awareness, and ensure that mothers know they are never alone on their parenting journey.

A heartfelt thank you to the Early Learning Coalition of Orange County for inviting us to be part of this meaningful event and for their commitment to supporting families throughout our community.

Postpartum changes are more common than many mothers realize, and understanding the signs can make a difference.

Many women experience emotional and physical challenges after childbirth, but postpartum depression and anxiety are treatable, and support is available. Knowing the facts can help mothers, families, and communities recognize when someone may need encouragement or professional help.

Save this post for future reference and share it with a friend, sister, or mother who may benefit from these reminders. Together, we can continue breaking the stigma around maternal mental health and ensure that no woman feels alone in her journey.
