I was honored to nominate Major Alonzo “Al” Chisholm, USAF Ret., at yesterday's Military Appreciation Day at the State House in recognition of his service to our country and continued dedication to veterans and our community.

A Vietnam Era and Desert Storm Veteran, Major Chisholm served veterans and families as Protenant Chaplain at the Bedford VA Hospital, continues his ministry as Senior Pastor at First Baptist Church in Waltham, and remains an active leader in several veterans' organizations throughout Massachusetts.

Congratulations, Major Chisholm, USAF Ret., and thank you for a lifetime of service and leadership!

Great night honoring and celebrating three new Eagle Scouts from Burlington’s Troop 103! I appreciated the opportunity to stop by the troop meeting to honor these scouts before the Court of Honor early next month. Great news for METCO! House Ways and Means budget released yesterday includes $35 million for the METCO program, as requested. Fully meeting its ask. It was fun to share this news with the Bedford High School students this morning. And I appreciate that METCO recognized me among its vocal supporters with this recognition at their recent State House visit.
