Two of our firefighters spent last week attending the TEEX Annual Spring Fire Training School, where they successfully earned their Fire Instructor I certification.

Driver Jesus Gamon and Firefighter Misael Lozoya both performed exceptionally well, each scoring in the 90s on their Pro Board certification examination.

We are proud of their dedication to continued training and professional development, which helps strengthen the capabilities of our department and the service we provide to our community.

02/26/2026

We are proud to announce that our department has been awarded a $265,000 grant through the Texas A&M Forest Service Rural Fire Department Assistance Program.

These funds will be used to purchase a new Type 5 wildland fire apparatus, significantly enhancing our wildland firefighting capabilities. This new brush truck will be the most agile wildland unit in our fleet, allowing us to quickly access and attack fires in areas that our larger apparatus cannot reach.

This investment strengthens our ability to protect lives, property, and the natural resources of our community especially in hard-to-access areas during wildfire incidents.

We are grateful to the Texas A&M Forest Service for their continued support of rural fire departments and their commitment to improving emergency response capabilities across Texas.
