What a great day of kickball!

We had a blast competing in the City of Cactus Community Kickball Tournament! It was a great day filled with friendly competition, teamwork, and plenty of fun.

A huge thank you and shoutout to all of the teams who came out and participated this year!

Your sportsmanship and enthusiasm helped make the tournament a great success.

We’re already looking forward to next year!

Severe Thunderstorm Warning

The National Weather Service in Amarillo has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Cactus and the surrounding area in Moore County until 7:45 PM.

HAZARD: 60 mph wind gusts.

IMPACT: Minor damage to roofs, siding, and trees is possible.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

The National Weather Service has issued Severe Thunderstorm Watch, in effect until 11:00 PM this evening.

Residents should remain weather aware throughout the evening. Severe thunderstorms capable of producing damaging winds, large hail, and frequent lightning may develop within the watch area.

Continue monitoring official weather information and be prepared to seek shelter if a warning is issued for the area.

IT'S GAME ON, CACTUS!

The City of Cactus is proud to host the 3rd Annual Boots vs Badges Kickball Tournament! This first-responder-only event brings our local fire, police, and other agencies together for a day of friendly competition and community spirit.

Building a team? At least 50% of your roster must come from your own agency — the rest can be filled out with family and friends. For example, a 10-player team needs at least 5 players from the representing agency.

Congratulations to Driver/Operator Adrian Alvarez on receiving his Stork Pin!

On July 1, Driver/Operator Adrian Alvarez responded to a medical call involving a mother in active labor. Upon arriving on scene, Adrian immediately initiated patient care and assisted with the safe delivery of a healthy baby before transport.

The Stork Pin recognizes first responders who play a direct role in bringing new life into the world. While our personnel train extensively for a wide variety of emergencies, opportunities like this are truly special and highlight the professionalism, compassion, and dedication our members bring to every call.

This recognition is a testament to Driver/Operator Alvarez's professionalism, dedication, and outstanding service to the Cactus community. Congratulations on this well-deserved honor.

We are proud to introduce the newest addition to the Cactus Fire Department fleet—our new Incident Command Unit.

This Chevrolet Tahoe SSV, professionally upfitted by On Point Upfitters, will serve as a command vehicle for emergency incidents, large-scale events, and disaster response.

This unit will provide the tools needed to coordinate resources, communicate with responding agencies, and effectively manage emergency operations.

*UPDATE: Fire is out*

Cactus Fire Department is currently providing mutual aid to the Stratford Fire Department on a large grass fire in Sherman County.

Multiple Cactus Fire Department resources have been deployed and are working alongside Stratford Fire Department and numerous other mutual aid agencies to assist with fire suppression efforts.
