Grateful for the endorsement of New York State AFL-CIO.
"Union members built the middle class in this country, and they deserve a representative who has their back. Labor will always have a seat at the table with me."

Thanks again to the volunteers who helped at Blake Gendebien for the North Country's Canton office this past week. The staff commented on how helpful you all were! We'd like to send two volunteers a day again next week, M-F, preferably from 12-4 each day. Please PM here or email [email protected], and we'll get you signed up!

NEW Map Shows Trump's Tariffs Are Hitting Swing States Hardest, and It Could Cost Republicans the Midterms

Trump's tariffs have a price tag, and this map shows exactly where the bill is landing hardest, right in the states Republicans need most to hold Congress.

A new Axios analysis of tariff data through June 2026 breaks down the estimated cost by state, and the pattern is impossible to miss. Michigan households are absorbing the highest per-family hit in the country, an estimated $5,619 each, driven by the auto industry. Georgia, South Carolina, and California aren't far behind. These aren't random states. They're the exact battlegrounds that decide who controls the House and Senate this November.

The numbers track with independent research everywhere else too. The Tax Policy Center projects households will pay roughly $920 more in 2026 alone. The Tax Foundation puts it at $840. Yale's Budget Lab estimates closer to $1,100 a year under current policy. Whatever number you use, the trend line points the same direction, straight into voters' wallets in the states where elections are actually decided.

Polling shows people already feel it. A Harris/Guardian survey found 77 percent of Democrats and 67 percent of independents believe tariffs have raised prices on everyday goods. Even 64 percent of Republicans agree.

Midterms are rarely won on abstractions. They're won on whether people feel richer or poorer than they did two years ago. Right now, in the states that matter most, the map says poorer, and Republicans are the ones who signed the bill.

I’m incredibly proud to announce that I have earned the endorsement of 1199SEIU, one of New York’s largest and most powerful unions representing healthcare workers and frontline professionals.

This endorsement means so much because I’m running to be a champion for working people—someone who will fight for affordable healthcare, good-paying jobs, strong public services, and communities where every family has the opportunity to thrive.

To the hardworking members of 1199SEIU: thank you for putting your trust in me. I’m honored to have you in this fight, and I look forward to standing shoulder-to-shoulder with you in Albany.

Together, we’re building a North Country where working families aren’t just getting by—they’re getting ahead.

Let’s win this together. 💪

Can anyone bring a lightweight 4x8-foot sign for Blake Gendebien from the Canton office to Malone? PM here or email [email protected].
EDIT 8/28/26: Sign didn't fit in Malone office building, but we have someone in Peru who could take it. Anyone with a p/u truck heading in that direction?
