Will you be graduating from H.S., Vocational Training, or a College/University?

To increase our numbers at the polls, Hope Worthington with the Carnegie Indian Education Program will be here at the Kiowa complex to sign all those who need to register to vote or update their voting records. Voter registration will be set up from 8:30 a.m. to noon in the front lobby on Thursday, January 16.

To have a voice in the next Carnegie School Board election, you’ll need to register before the last day which is January 17.

CPS has one of the highest numbers of Indian students, so it’s important to have Native Americans on the board. Misty Ahhaitty-Boettger (Kiowa/Wichita) will be running for the school board. The election is February 11, 2020.

Today is truly a blessing for the Kiowa Tribe as we celebrate Luke Toyebo Sr. 99th Birthday. "My heart is full, I see a lot of people here celebrating my birthday. Thanking God for the many blessings He gives us. I'm blessed today," expressed Mr. Toyebo.

Luke Toyebo Sr. is the oldest living enrolled Kiowa male. Grateful for his life and the precious memories he has of the times from long ago.

Kiowa Black Leggings Warrior Society (Ton-Kon-Gah) also presented Luke Sr. with a War Bonnet. "We couldn't let a moment pass to say 'thank you' and honor the oldest living Kiowa Veteran," said Dr. Rhodes.

It is an honor and privilege to recognize this man. "ah-ho"

This is a video of the trip to Stillwater, Okla., on November 17, 2019. Many Kiowa tribal members and non-tribal members attended this game. Recently Lindy Waters III (Kiowa/Cherokee) acheived a huge milestone in his college career and gained 1,000 points. He is the 42nd player in program history to do so. Here are some highlights.

"You can be a superhero" was the theme for students who wanted to dress as their favorite superhero this afternoon in Apache, Oklahoma at the Comanche Comunity Center. Students and their families from all three centers (Carnegie, Anadarko, & Lawton) were specially invited to attend the school dance with refreshments and door prizes for everyone. Plus the children had a chance to see a very special guest, Santa Claus!

The kids had a joyous time showing off their dance moves, let's show them some love by liking and sharing this post! MERRY CHRISTMAS from the Kiowa Tribe Head Start.
