A heart-warming story -
Lee Eun Hae "Grace Lee" (pictured 2nd from right), a Bronze medalist in table tennis at the Paris Olympic, is an adoptee from Inner Mongolia to Korea.
A pastor family (Pastor Lee Choong-hee) adopted her after hearing about her story through a missionary. Pastor Lee’s decision to adopt was largely influenced by his spiritual teacher, the late Pastor Ok Han-heum’s (옥한음 목사) pastoral philosophy of ‘One soul is more precious than the world.’
When he served as an associate pastor at the Seoul Sarang Church, his wife was in charge of volunteer work for adopted children at an adoption agency. He recalled, “When I heard the story of Grace from missionary Yang Young-ja, who was a member of Sarang Church, I wanted to help my child as a good parent and raise her as a faithful child of the Lord if God allows it.” Pastor Lee even gave her the name ‘Grace’.
Pastor Lee and his wife had two biological daughters, he was very grateful that Grace prayed for the nervous athletes during the bronze medal match by sharing her faith in God.
