🎒 REGISTER SOON! We’re getting ready for the 9th Annual FREE Back to School Event hosted by Carthage Kiwanis!

Children in the Carthage, Dallas City, and LaHarpe School Districts (Pre-K through 8th grade) can receive FREE clothing, shoes, backpacks, and school supplies for the new school year.

📝 Pre-registration is REQUIRED by May 29 to guarantee clothing and shoes.

Remember Their Sacrifice Always.

❤️🇺🇸🤍🇺🇸💙Memorial Day is a time for our nation to pause and remember the brave men and women who gave their lives while serving in the United States military. It is more than just a holiday or the beginning of summer — it is a day of reflection, gratitude, and honor for those who made the ultimate sacrifice to protect our freedoms. Across the country, American flags wave proudly over cemeteries and memorials as families, friends, and communities gather to pay tribute to our fallen heroes whose courage will never be forgotten.

On Memorial Day, we remember not only the soldiers who fought on distant battlefields, but also the loved ones left behind who carry their memory every day. Their sacrifice reminds us of the true cost of freedom and the strength of the human spirit. As we honor those who served with courage and selflessness, we also hold close the memories of the heroes who now rest in Heaven — forever loved, forever missed, and forever remembered.

Regarding the stoplight:

🚦The stoplight is run by the state, not by the City or anyone else.
🚦The stoplight is currently operated by loops. Some of those loops have stopped working in the past year.
🚦Recently, one of the loops that stopped working made the usual operation of the light unsafe. This is why the light is blinking red.
🚦We have been informed that starting Tuesday of next week, the stoplight will begin getting updated to a camera system instead of a loop system. We are just as hopeful as all of you that this is a solution to the troubles we have had with the stoplight in the past year.
