Many of us worry about “Stranger Danger” when the truth is more than 90% of children who experience abuse know the person who harms them.

That’s why teaching children about body safety, trusted adults, and speaking up is so important, and why creating informed communities matters.

Every conversation, every training, and every caring adult helps make children safer.

Every celebration can make a difference.

When Brett Kubricht hosts a party, he asks guests to bring a toy instead of a traditional gift.

The result?

Smiles, generosity, and a car full of toys for the children and families served here, at Children’s Advocacy Center of Charlotte.

These thoughtful donations help create moments of comfort and joy for children during some of the most difficult times in their lives.

We are so grateful for supporters who use life’s celebrations to give back and inspire others to do the same.

Looking for a meaningful way to celebrate your next birthday, holiday, housewarming, or special event?

Consider hosting a toy drive, collecting items from our wish list, or inviting your guests to support our mission.

Your creativity can help protect and heal children, unite key partners, and engage our community to end child abuse.

Thank you for reminding us that generosity is always worth celebrating.

This week, we’re celebrating the incredible forensic interviewers who help children find their voice in the moments they need it most.

Forensic interviewers are specially trained to talk with children in a safe, supportive, and developmentally appropriate way after concerns of abuse arise. Their work helps reduce trauma, supports investigations, and most importantly, ensures every child is heard with compassion and respect.

At Children’s Advocacy Center of Charlotte, our forensic interviewers are often among the first people to help a child begin their healing journey. Their patience, expertise, and unwavering commitment make a lasting difference in the lives of children and families every day.

Thank you to our amazing forensic interviewers—and to forensic interviewers everywhere—for the care, courage, and hope you bring to this work.

Every child deserves to feel safe, supported, and heard.

At Children’s Advocacy Center of Charlotte, our work is guided by three simple but powerful pillars:

Protect 💙 When abuse is suspected, we coordinate a child-centered response that brings together law enforcement, child protective services, medical professionals, and advocates—all in one safe place. By working together, we reduce trauma and help children tell their story only once.

Heal 💙 Healing doesn’t end after the investigation. Through evidence-based therapy, family support, and specialized healing programs, we help children and caregivers build resilience, restore hope, and move forward together.

Prevent 💙 The best way to end child abuse is to prevent it before it happens. Through community education, prevention training, and partnerships, we empower adults and youth to recognize warning signs, respond appropriately, and create safer environments for every child.

Protect. Heal. Prevent. These aren’t just words—they’re the promise that guides everything we do as we work to end child abuse in our community.
