Their team blessed our school community by donating snack bags and filling backpacks with school supplies to help ensure our scholars begin the school year equipped and encouraged. Partnerships like these remind us that it truly takes a village to invest in the success of our children.

After spending hours diving into data, reflecting on our school’s progress, and engaging in meaningful conversations about the shifts to make this school year, our incredible principal, Bryant, later surprised the entire administrative team with a trip to The Game Show Challenge.

What a brilliant reminder that leadership isn’t just built in conference rooms, it’s strengthened through laughter, trust, and shared experiences. Sometimes, the best leadership can also happen outside the four walls of the building, where teams can connect on a personal level, strengthen relationships, and return with renewed energy and purpose. We competed, encouraged one another, celebrated wins, and created memories that will undoubtedly strengthen how we lead together.

To top it all off, she treated us to lunch, where the conversations continued and the team bonding grew even stronger.

Today was the perfect balance of hard work and heartfelt connection. As we headed back to campus to continue unpacking, planning, and preparing for another incredible year, we were reminded that the strongest schools are built by leaders who know when to analyze data, make tough decisions, and also step outside the building to invest in one another. That investment will undoubtedly translate into a stronger culture for our staff, students, and families.

Love Week at Elevation Church is one of my favorite times of the year. Volunteers spread throughout our community, serving with love and purpose, and we are incredibly grateful that Governors’ Village STEM Academy is one of their valued community partners.

This year, an amazing team of volunteers joined yours truly to paint benches and create a beautiful accent wall on our Lower Campus. In just a matter of hours, the transformation was incredible!

It’s amazing what a fresh coat of paint and a few vibrant colors can do. They brought new life, energy, and warmth to our campus, creating an even more welcoming environment for our scholars, staff, and families.

Thank you, Elevation Church, for investing your time, talents, and hearts into our school. Your service is making a lasting impact, one brushstroke at a time!

As the new academic year unfolds, I am excited to officially reintroduce the incredible community partners who continue to invest in our scholars and our school community.

First up, the remarkable brothers of the Zeta Delta Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. at UNC Charlotte! Their impact at GVSA has been nothing short of extraordinary. Last year, they read to our scholars, distributed groceries to our families, reviewed core subjects with our middle school students in preparation for EOGs, mentored our young men through the Boys Mentoring Program, and even invited our scholars to receive free books at one of their community events. Their commitment to serving our school has been unwavering.

Our GVSA team has already met with them, and our new principal, Mrs. Bryant, has had the opportunity to connect with this outstanding group of leaders. We are excited to continue strengthening this partnership.

This year, GVSA will be sprinkled in red and white as we work together to raise the bar of excellence for every scholar. The best is yet to come!

The new academic school year is off to an amazing start! The brothers of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., Zeta Delta Chapter at UNC Charlotte partnered with GVSA to distribute groceries to our families, demonstrating their continued commitment to serving our community.

Families, members of the Divine Nine, and our dedicated staff also had the opportunity to meet our new principal, Mrs. Bryant. The excitement was truly in the air! We are thrilled to continue this meaningful partnership with the Kappas and look forward to taking our collaboration and community impact to an even greater level this school year.
