Reminders/Updates/Info for the week

Parents, mark your calendars for Parent-Teacher Conferences on Thursday, October 15. Students will attend school from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Conferences will be held from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Teachers will have a dinner break from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. Please watch for information from your child’s teacher about scheduling a conference.

Parents we once again want to make sure you all are fully equipped to view your students' attendance records and academic progress in Infinite Campus. Students and parents/guardians have real-time access to all attendance & academic data within Infinite Campus, and we strongly encourage you all to use it regularly. Please continue to encourage your child to do his/her best work, not just academically but behaviorally. We strive to provide a positive learning environment and we must all work together to make that happen. Also, each day our bus drivers do their best to safely transport our students to and from school. It is important that your child follow bus expectations and behave on the bus. If your child does not follow expectations he/she will lose the privilege of riding the bus.

Attention 6th Grade Band Parents!!! Your child must have the music book we use in class in order to be successful in band class. It is called "Essential Elements for Band: Book 1" Please make sure you have ordered this for your child and you order it for the correct instrument. If you have any questions or need financial assistance, please contact Mr. Whiteley at [email protected]! Thanks! You can scan the QR code in the digital version of this message.

Regular attendance is essential to student success. Every day at school gives students opportunities to learn, build relationships, and develop important skills. Boys Soccer will have workouts September 28-30 from 3:30pm - 5:30pm. tryouts will be October 1-2 from 3:30pm - 5:30pm. Volleyball will have tryouts on October 2nd and October 5th 3:30pm - 5:30pm. Wrestling will have tryouts October 5-6 from 3:30pm - 5:30pm. As a reminder, all students will need an upgraded physical and a completed 26-27 Dragonfly completed prior to workouts/tryouts.

Attention students and parents, we will have a Hat Day Fundraiser on September 25th. The cost to participate is $1 and you will be able to pay in the front lobby when you come in that morning. This fundraiser is being sponsored by our Hawk Pride club. We are looking forward to seeing everyone’s favorite hat!

Today we want to recognize someone who works tirelessly behind the scenes to make sure our Mount Holly Hawks have every opportunity to compete, grow, and succeed!

Coach Wellman, thank you for the countless hours, the organization, the problem-solving, and the dedication you pour into MHMS athletics. From game schedules and facilities to supporting our coaches and student-athletes, you help create an athletic program where our Hawks can learn lessons that go far beyond the scoreboard.

Your commitment to our students reminds us that athletics are about so much more than winning. They are about teamwork, discipline, perseverance, character, leadership, and pride in being a Hawk. 🦅

As we settle into this new school year, we want to make sure you all are fully equipped to view your students' attendance records and academic progress in Infinite Campus. Schools within GCS will no longer print Report Cards to send home with students. Similarly, MHMS will no longer print Interim Reports to send home with students. Students and parents/guardians have real-time access to all attendance & academic data within Infinite Campus, and we strongly encourage you all to use it regularly.

We are excited to promote college and career readiness through College FIT Mondays! We want our students to start thinking about their future and the many opportunities available after high school.

There will be no school for students on Wednesday, September 16th due to our Teacher Professional Development Workday. Students will return to school on Thursday. We hope everyone enjoys the day off, and we look forward to welcoming our Hawks back on Thursday!

Picture day is coming! Carolina Photography will be here on Friday this week to photograph all of our students for the yearbook and for picture package purchases. Order forms went home with your student last week. You can order online using the QR code on the order form or send your payment with your student on Friday. All students will be photographed even if they do not purchase pictures.
