The CLT Alliance greeted site selection consultants warmly last week for ConnectED CLT. Each consultant received a “Made in the CLT Region” welcome basket featuring snacks and custom recipes with ingredients made throughout the Charlotte Region.

- Deal Apple Orchards / Deal Orchards Inc dried apple slices - from Alexander County
- Lavender Flair products - made in Lancaster County
- Red Bridges Barbecue Lodge's homemade BBQ sauce - from Cleveland County
- The Craftsman Beverage Co.'s old fashioned blend - handcrafted in York County
- South Mountain Distilling Company's wh***ey - distilled in Burke County
- Muddy River Distillery's rum – distilled in Gaston County
- Piedmont Pennies' cheese straws - produced in Mecklenburg County
- Bojangles Seasoning – created in Mecklenburg County
- Several Charlotte-branded items for the home, all provided by Charlotte Regional Visitors Authority

The Charlotte Region is well-positioned to compete for targeted life sciences investment. A new study commissioned by the CLT Alliance finds that the region's medtech industry cluster and manufacturing base position it to compete for targeted life sciences investment.

The study identifies 4 sectors best positioned for growth: medtech, contract manufacturing services and technical services, biologics, and nutrition and consumer health.

It was great to hear Mayor Harrington speak about his priorities for Charlotte. As the voice of business, the CLT Alliance looks forward to working on shared goals with the mayor, the City of Charlotte Government, and the residents who call Charlotte home.

Over the past few months, interns dove headfirst into everything our vibrant city has to offer, combining career-building opportunities with plenty of summer fun. From an exclusive sports executive chat and rail trail exploration to an interactive lunch and learn, they networked, leveled up their skills, and unlocked exciting new opportunities along the way.
