Looking back at a standout moment from our 2025 summer internship program, when interns visited Roof Above to see partnership in action.

Their experience offered a behind-the-scenes look at the very fabric of nonprofit partnership and how deeply connected our community response truly is. From learning alongside partner organizations to seeing collaboration in action, our interns gained a greater understanding of how nonprofits work together to support neighbors in meaningful ways.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to help shape the next generation of leaders who understand that strong communities are built through connection, partnership, and shared purpose.

Hard work alone is often not enough to create stability. As students head back to school, many parents are facing an added burden: uniforms, school supplies, and other classroom needs on top of the everyday expenses they already struggle to cover.

Crisis Assistance Ministry helps bridge that gap for families who are doing everything they can but still falling short. Your support helps parents keep up with essential costs and gives children the tools they need to start the school year prepared. https://ow.ly/KMt250ZvW2b

This summer, a group of student interns stepped into Crisis Assistance Ministry ready to learn, listen, and help their neighbors stay housed in a rapidly growing city.

Rohan, one of our Bank of America Student Leaders® interns, shared why this work matters to him:

“I was really looking to find a way to make an impact on my community… when I found this opportunity that supports nonprofits, I thought to myself that I should take this opportunity and run with it.”

From exploring housing instability to supporting our customer advocates and AI projects, these Student Leaders are seeing firsthand how small changes can make a big difference for families in Mecklenburg County.

We’re deeply grateful to Bank of America for partnering with our agency through the Student Leaders® program and connecting passionate young people to mission-driven work right here in our community. https://ow.ly/YIKW50ZtFcm

1,000 snacks = 1,000 reasons to say thank you.

Thank you, Wells Fargo, for showing up in such a big way for our community. 💛

School starts in less than 30 days!

Families across Mecklenburg County are already making tough choices. One mom recently missed her Duke Energy bill in June after an overnight hospital stay; now she’s focused on getting her rising 8th grader ready for the first day of school. At Crisis Assistance Ministry, she can shop our Free Store, free of charge, for school uniforms so she can catch up on bills without sacrificing what her child needs for class.

You can help restock our shelves with uniforms in multiple sizes. When you purchase items from our Back-to-School Amazon Gift List or donate new uniforms directly, you’re making sure parents don’t have to choose between keeping the lights on and sending their children to school prepared.

Every polo, pair of pants, skirt, and jumper you give is one more student who can walk into school with confidence. https://ow.ly/j4s950Zn2H8
