Healing Vine Harbor, Inc.

Healing Vine Harbor, Inc. We are dedicated to empowering and uplifting women. We offer workshops teaching independent living skills. Our goal is to open a residential program.

We need your help to help the hurting. Healing Vine Harbor (HVH) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that serves at risk women (ages 18 and older) who are not prepared for independent living. Because they have aged out of the foster care system, their homes or current housing situation, they are no longer safe or stable. They lack preparation or resources for the future and end up in shelters, jail, or bounced around from place to place. We are a safe space for single homeless women who are hurting! The mission of Healing Vine Harbor is to reduce the number of single women living in shelters or unsafe situations, providing a pathway out of poverty to ensure self-sufficiency. We transform lives one woman at a time through independent living skills such as financial literacy, educational preparation, employability readiness, mentoring and much more. Our vision is to meet the needs of as many women as possible, community by community, providing housing, spiritual awareness, individual and group counseling, relationship building, as well as educational and vocational preparation. Community service, money management and cultural experiences will also be included as part of this holistic approach. Our objective is to help change the mindset of our women and to create a society whereby women are not statistically counted as part of the homeless population. HVH’s approach will be “hands on” creating methods to reach and nurture through repetition and example. We are confident that the ladies we serve will do exceedingly well if they practice the tools they learn. Knowing they are prepared to face any challenge, learning they have value, they can move forward and live independently with self-assurance. Providing workshops and programs that will benefit society as a whole, but specifically our ladies, will teach them that their success does not hinge on others but on sharpening their skills and finding their inner strength. We are in the process of raising funds for our residence. Our goal is to open a residential facility by 2023. Currently we do not have a residence. If you are looking for housing in Charlotte currently, please call 211 and they will refer you to housing resources. Through mentoring, we have witnessed lives changed, seen drop outs become college graduates, seen petty criminals become working citizens and seen others live on their own and become mentors themselves so we know this works. With the monies we raise, we currently offer monthly workshops, provide short term emergency assistance, connect our women with needed resources to help them sustain independent living and avoid eviction or return to poverty. Donations will also be used towards start-up costs i.e. purchasing a house, securing furniture and equipment, providing room and board as well as hiring staff to provide the services needed above. Donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent. Thank you for helping Healing Vine Harbor make a difference in the lives of others. We ask that if you are unable to give, you simply Like and Share our fundraising link https://healingvineharbor.kindful.com/ in hopes that we can spread the word, reach our goal and Transform Lives One Woman at a Time! Together We Help Them Ascend.

We have been welcomed with open arms by the Meck South Rotary Club over the past few months! Most recently, the rotary club hosted a volunteer event for their members to learn more about Healing Vine Harbor and pack Healing Bags for women in need across Mecklenburg County. Each bag is thoughtfully assembled with essential items that promote hygiene, comfort, and self-worth. More than just supplies, these bags represent care, dignity, and a reminder that no one is alone.

Thanks to the Meck South Rotary Group, we were able to deliver 50 Healing Bags to McKinney-Vento students at Garinger High School and to homeless women being served by My Sister’s House Transitional Living Program.

To everyone who has said "I told a friend about the work your organization does" — THANK YOU. 💜

When you share our story, you're not just spreading the word, you're helping build a community that understands what prevention-first support really looks like. You're helping more people see the impact of stable housing, wraparound care, and women who show up for each other.

Every conversation you have on our behalf strengthens this work. That kind of support can't be bought — only earned. And we don't take it for granted.

Thank you for being part of our story.

While we'd love to be in the limo, we will definitely be there for each other on the bus when the limo breaks down.

Our alumni gathered as we officially rolled out our ASCEND Alumni Network. ASCEND is designed to help our alumni protect the progress they have made, continue growing, remain connected to a community that wants to see them succeed, and give back to other women as they are able.

The bonds these women have with each other are special, and we know how valuable those connections are to their overall wellbeing.

We are grateful to have financial supporters who enable us to host these types of events for our alumni — these women have worked so hard to find stability! Here's to more ASCEND events and more alumni joining us soon.

Grateful doesn't begin to cover it. 💜

Thank you to and Rodrick Banks for a $15,000 investment supporting eviction prevention and rental assistance for our clients across Mecklenburg County.

In 2025, this partnership helped 31 clients avoid eviction and stay housed. Mecklenburg County posted the highest eviction filing total of any county in North Carolina for the second year running. Partners like Wells Fargo make it possible for us to meet the moment.

Earlier this year, Wells Fargo volunteers also hosted a Healing Bags event for our clients. Their teammates showed up in person to support our community, not just with funding.

Wells Fargo isn't just a funder, they're a true community partner. Thank you for standing with us and the neighbors we serve.

When we’re together, we know we’re in the right room.

This is what community feels like at Healing Vine Harbor. Women showing up for each other, cheering each other on, building each other up. No competition. No judgment. A room full of people who care and want to help our clients thrive.

Volunteer with Healing Vine Harbor 💜

Healing Vine Harbor is looking for a few dedicated volunteers to help us keep growing!

If you can help, let us know or tag a friend:

🔹 CRM/Data Support — Someone comfortable in a donor database who can help us maintain and clean up our donor data, so we can steward our supporters effectively and keep our records accurate. (We use Bloomerang - but experience not necessary.)

🔹 Corporate CSR & Grant Research — Someone who enjoys research and relationship-building to help us identify corporate giving opportunities and grants that align with our mission.

🔹 Event Support — Someone who loves being on the ground helping things run smoothly — from setup to check-in to breakdown — at our upcoming events.

Every hour given helps a woman stay housed, stay connected, and keep moving toward self-sufficiency. If any of these sound like a fit for your skills, we’d love to talk with you.

📩 Interested? Fill out the contact us form on our website, email us at [email protected], or DM us.

Thank you! We’re still tallying up our results but at least 40 of you donated to our campaign. We definitely felt the love. 💜

We didn’t hit our goal of $20k, but we did meet new followers and had lots of engagement on social media. If you missed the campaign and would like to support us, you can donate through our website. www.healingvineharbor.org

One thing we learned is that we need more people to know about the work we do. 📣Please help us amplify our story by sharing our posts, forwarding our emails, and introducing us to your friends, neighbors, and coworkers!

And thank you to Young, Black & Giving Back Institute and NGAAP | A Philanthropic Collective for organizing this meaningful campaign and elevating our voice!

Thank you for believing in our mission! Together We Ascend!
