We have been home and host to the leaders of the 20th century. More than a century of history and hospitality is behind everything we do. Built in 1915 and tripled by its most famous owner James Buchanan Duke, The Duke Mansion has been home and host to leaders of the 20th century. Duke’s most lasting legacies, including Duke University, Duke Energy and the Duke Endowment, took shape at the home. L

isted on the National Register of Historic Places, The Mansion is now operated as a nonprofit Historic Inn and Meeting Place, with all proceeds being used to preserve and protect this community treasure.

Summer evenings at Duke Mansion are hard to beat.

This August, we have three opportunities for you to slow down, gather with friends, and enjoy Cocktails in the Garden. Join us August 3, 17, and 31 from 5–8 PM for an evening of cocktails, conversation, and strolling through the beautiful Mary D.B.T. Semans Gardens.

Enjoy drinks from the bar, including Duke Mansion Dry Bar options, with charcuterie and light snacks available for purchase. Guests can also join us for a history tour at 5:45 PM and learn more about the place that makes these evenings so special.

A $10 suggested donation supports Duke Mansion, while Preservation Society and Colonnade members attend as our guests.
