The Cherokee Public Library will be closed on Monday, May 25th in observance of Memorial Day. We will reopen at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 26th. We would like to wish all of our patrons a safe holiday weekend.

It's Day 1 of and we're celebrating with help from past National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature Jacqueline Woodson!

What did the award-winning author have to say about books that helped spark her curiosity?

“My grandmother died just before I became pregnant with my daughter, Toshi. The fact that the two would never meet in this place led me to a curiosity about the generations of women in my family that I had never met. This led to the deep dive into the stories of my ancestors - Stories my grandmother and mother had told me and stories I found through family records and the oral histories of uncles, cousins and aunts. SHOW WAY was the result of that curiosity.”

Our Summer Reading Program dates have changed! Summer Reading activities at the Cherokee Public Library will now be on SATURDAYS in June. Registration will open soon, so be on the lookout. We can't wait to see you there!

The Cherokee Public Library is now accepting applications from individuals willing to fill a vacancy on our Board of Trustees. This vacancy is a volunteer position and will serve a partial term ending at the end of December 2027. Applications are available at the Cherokee Public Library during regular business hours (10am-4pm Monday-Friday).

Due to last-minute cancellation, we now have 2 available spots for out adult paint class tonight! This is the perfect opportunity to bring a friend and paint your own spring door hanger sign. The Cherokee Public Library will be closed Thursday, January 1st, 2026 for New Year's Day. We will resume normal operating hours at 10AM on Friday, January 2nd. We would like to wish all of our patrons a safe and happy New Year!
