🚜 FREE Unwanted Pesticide Disposal Event – April 30

The Oklahoma Department of Agriculture, Food and Forestry is hosting a FREE Unwanted Pesticide Disposal Event on April 30, 2026, from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Roger Mills County Fairgrounds (300 Fair Barn Rd., Cheyenne, OK).

This is a great opportunity for:
• Homeowners
• Farmers & ranchers
• Commercial applicators
• Pesticide dealers

Bring in pesticides that are unusable, outdated, or no longer needed—at no cost for the first 2,000 lbs per participant!

✅ No pre‑registration needed for homeowners, farmers, ranchers, or applicators.

Dealers are encouraged to pre‑register due to potential large quantities.

Participants are responsible for transporting their own pesticides.

Helpful transport tips and additional information are available through the OSU Pesticide Safety Education Program at the link below.

It isn't often we have the opportunity within our county to get rid of unwanted pesticides. These events are usually a decent drive from us, so don't miss out on this one!

We will start accepting applications for Cost Share Program Year 28 on Monday! Stop by the office next week to pick up your paperwork and get answers to your cost share questions. Applications are due May 1st.

Yesterday was Conservation Day at the Capitol, and conservation advocates from across the state were able to have good conversations with many senators and house members. Some of the key talking points relating to our district included the Unpaved Roads Program, expansion of the Terry Peach Watershed Restoration Program (cedar eradication), and funding for much needed flood control dam repairs. Another important talking point was "Boots on the Ground" local conservation delivery, filling positions that were lost over the years due to funding shortages and incentivizing experienced employees to remain in conservation.

Pictured are Tracey York, Watershed Aide, and Katy Elliott, District Manager, who had a chance to catch up with State Rep Anthony Moore.

Elliott also had a chance to visit with Senator Casey Murdock about several important issues pressing the district. She's pictured with Senator Murdock and Senator Bill Coleman.
