This summer, students from Standing Pine, Bogue Chitto, and Conehatta Boys & Girls Club units participated in an exciting hands-on learning experience at our Makerspace, with students exploring creativity, technology, and innovation.

They also learned the fundamentals of digital design and explored how artificial intelligence (AI) can support the creative process. Putting their new skills into action, students designed their own projects, created custom sublimation products, and printed and pressed their finished items to take home.

The program also provided students with a look ahead at future opportunities available through the Makerspace, inspiring them to continue exploring, creating, and learning.

Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians has partnered with Bay Mills Community College to offer online classes for those studying Early Childhood Education. This has been an excellent resource for our community. This summer, an in-person commencement was held for 11 graduating students at Pearl River Resort.

More than 100 members of the MBCI community attended, with their tribal council and offices represented in the crowd to congratulate their relatives.
