September is Library Card Sign-Up Month!
If you don't have a library card, you're missing out on lots of cool stuff! Visit our library or one of our branch libraries to sign up for a library card. Children's library cards (under 18 years old) are FREE and just need a parent or guardian to sign up for one. Adult library cards (18 & up) are $3.00 if you live in or own property in Chilton County and $5.00 for non-Chilton County residents.

We hope everyone is having a great weekend! Just a heads up, this week we will NOT have Toddler Time or Mommy & Me story time due to the primary election on Tuesday, August 11th. The library is a polling place. However, we will have Freeplay at 10 am on Wednesday for children ages birth to 5. Next Tuesday, August 18th Mrs. Deanna from Central Alabama Arts Alliance will be doing a fun art project during our Toddler Time program so we definitely look forward to that. Please spread the word and tell other moms and dads about our story time programs because we always love seeing new faces at the library! 😁

We are proud to have been a grant recipient through the Library Services & Technology Act (LSTA). I had the opportunity to write this grant, as well as pursue other grant opportunities that help strengthen our library and expand the resources we can provide to our community. This funding allowed us to significantly update and expand our Adult Nonfiction and Adult Biography collections, areas that were in need of substantial improvement. Darlene and I dedicated a full year to researching and carefully selecting current, relevant resources that will better serve the informational needs and interests of our community. It is an honor to secure funding that allows us to continue improving our collections and providing greater access to knowledge.
