If you own a small business, the Federal Trade Commission wants you to be aware of scams targeting small business owners. Go to their website for information at https://consumer.ftc.gov/consumer-alerts/2026/05/run-small-business-pay-your-bills-not-scammers?utm_source=govdelivery .

If you run a small business, you know how important it is to pay your bills. Scammers know this too and send fake invoices to businesses for products or services they never ordered in the hopes they’ll pay up.

“Today was Alphabet Z Storyhour,” Mrs. Bobbie reports. “The children shared toy Zoo animals, a Zebra, Zuma from Paw Patrol, and a Zombie monster truck. I read the books “Color Zoo” and “Good Night Gorilla.” Then, we went on a pretend Zoo trip through the library and were very excited to shine our flashlights on each animal we saw taped on the shelf endcaps. What an exciting adventure! We ended the morning with a craft putting Zoo animals in their cage with yarn. Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers.”

“Yesterday, was Teen Time Game Day here at the Bolivar County Library,” Mrs. Bobbie reports. “The children and teens enjoyed various competitive games, including Connect 4, Chess, and Wordle, while some made Mother’s Day cards. Samantha from the Circulation Desk borrowed a game of “Heads Up” from TikTok, which everyone enjoyed. For fun, certificates were given for Best Actor, Most Dramatic Guess, Confidence Without Accuracy, and Worst Clue Giver. We are open to suggestions for our Teen Time Game Day. The next Teen Time Game Day will be June 3, 2026, at 3:30 p.m. Bring it on!!!!!”

“Last Friday, May 1st, was Alphabets X and Y Storyhour,” Mrs. Bobbie reports. “We had a fun show-and-tell with the children sharing several Xylophones, a Yellow crayon, a Yellow bow, a Yellow Ford Bronco on his shirt, a Yellow band aid, a personal drawing of a human X-ray, Xbox controller, a personal drawing of a pirate’s X marks the spot, and a toy X-ray machines. I read the books “What Words Has an X?” and “I am so Happy You’re Here.” The children enjoyed making a pirate’s “X” marks the spot craft.”
