There are SO many things that make Cleveland special... ✨

This week, two of them brought home statewide awards at the annual Mississippi Main Street Association Awards Luncheon.❤️🏆

Haley Kelly, owner of H Squared Boutique, received the Outstanding Retail Merchandising Award for her seasonal fashion shows, which feature our friends, family members, coworkers, and neighbors as models. If you've ever been to one, you know they're about so much more than clothes. Haley has a way of making people feel special, bringing people together, and creating experiences that keep people coming back downtown again and again.

Homer Sledge III, President of Nehi Bottling Company, received the Outstanding Legacy Business Award among all large Main Street communities in Mississippi, recognizing generations of leadership, community investment, and a business that has stood the test of time while continuing to make a difference today. Chances are, if you've attended a local fundraiser, school event, festival, youth ballgame, or community celebration, Nehi has played a part in supporting it.

We absolutely love that these awards recognize two completely different types of businesses, yet both represent some of the very best of Cleveland.

Both bring people together. & Both invest in our community. ❤️

✨ Meet the Newest Face of the Chamber! ✨

Most of you have probably already walked through our doors and been greeted by this smiling face, eager to help in any way she can. If you haven't had the chance yet, we'd love to introduce you to Hailey Dickerson, our new Office Coordinator!

Hailey has quickly become a welcoming presence in the Chamber office, assisting members, visitors, and community partners with enthusiasm and a positive attitude. We're excited to have her on our team and look forward to all the ways she'll help serve our members and community.

🚨 In case you missed it!

This morning, Mississippi Business Alliance and Accelerate MS did an outstanding job on SuperTalk Mississippi highlighting the incredible work happening across our state in workforce development, economic development, education, and the partnerships helping move Mississippi forward.

We highly encourage you to take a few minutes and check it out. It is incredibly informative and gives a great look at the intentional efforts taking place at both the state and local levels to strengthen our workforce, support business and industry, and create more opportunities for our communities.

From economic development initiatives to partnerships with our schools, including K-12 education, this conversation shows just how much work is being done to prepare students, support employers, and build stronger communities across Mississippi.

Knowledge is absolutely power, and the more we understand about what’s happening behind the scenes to grow our workforce and economy, the better equipped we are to support and take part in that progress.

We are proud to partner with organizations like these that are not only talking about progress, but actively helping make it happen. The work being done is exciting, impactful, and truly something Mississippi can be proud of.

This week, part of the Cleveland-Bolivar County Chamber team traveled to Biloxi for the Mississippi Economic Development Council (MEDC) Exchange Conference, joining economic and community development professionals from across the state to learn, connect, and bring fresh ideas back home.

There was a lot of valuable knowledge gained, from chamber operations and workforce development to social media strategy, site selection, and economic development trends.

We were especially proud to cheer on our Executive Director, Hannah Aguzzi, who also serves on the MEDC Board of Directors, as she represented North Mississippi in the conference’s Family Feud competition! She helped her team secure the winning answer in the Economic Development category… but we’re not sharing what it was. 😂

And Judd Wilson, Senior Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce for the Community Development Foundation in Tupelo, MS, gave Steve Harvey a run for his money, hands down, the BEST Family Feud host! 👏

We’re excited to bring what we learned back to Cleveland and Bolivar County and put it to work for our members and community!
